:daveandmo:As we get closer to the trip and we are starting to pack, we both have decided that if we can get away with just carry on luggage we wont have to stand around for 45 min waiting for our luggage to be processed through, and wait for it to appear on the magic carousel in the airport. That way we can just leave the plane, go through customs and proceed straight outside to our ride to the resort. With all this being said the only detail that we are curious about, are the shampoo, soap, lotion bottles that come with most bathroom hotel rooms available???. And do most of the ladies approve of the soap and shampoo they may offer? This would keep us from having to pack a bunch of liquids that TSA and security will frown upon. That would only leave sunblock to pack or we may just get our sunblock there at the resort if they have it. I know that we could always run into Walmart if we had to but this is vacation and some of that experience for us is not to go to Walmart if it is possible........We do enough of those visits here at home.LOL. Packing all week can be done here if nowhere else on earth since we should be able to cut back on the bulk of excess clothing.....bikini bottoms only!!:) Cant wait!!:mexicoflag:

sunblock is very expensive take it with you, there is a drug store across the street where you can buy shampoo and conditioner I believe and booze and lots of stuff.. a little pricey but cheaper than the resort.

Honestly the process of picking up your bag and going through customs doesn't take very long in Cancun, often I find you bag is on the conveyor within 5 minutes (if not before) you getting there.

I don't think the time you'll save by going carry on only is going to be that significant, so I'd just pack a suitcase.

I have long hair and there's no way I could survive with the shampoo/conditioner that the hotel provides. I either take a full bottle of each with me or buy it at walmart the first morning that we're there.

At the end of our trip if there's any of the stuff left we pack up a bag of stuff and give it to Amy on the entertainment staff...that way I don't have to bring it home.

The luggage carousel at the cancun airport is super quick...I would take a suitcase just to have some extra stuff.

We are just bringing carry on luggage. I'm going to buy travel size stuff. It has to be 3.4oz or less. I'm going to put it all in a clear zip lock bag.

If it's a time thing...as in you want to spend more time at the resort, then consider that a trip to Walmart will take more time than you'll spend at the luggage carousel. I'm a guy and I couldn't live out of a carry-on for a week. Jamie's shoes alone would take up two carry-ons! By the time you get through immigration, your luggage will probably already be spinning around the carousel. Even if I thought I'd spend 45 minutes waiting for my luggage, I'd still check bags. If you're going for a full week, that's a fair amout of time you'll be living like you're on a backpacking expedition.

By the time you get off the plane and through the usually long line of immigration, it doesn't take anytime to get your luggage. We have never had to wait more than 5 mins. It will take longer to go to Walmart. I have long hair as well and would NEVER survive on the shampoo and conditioner at the resort. Full bottle of each for each trip no travel sizes for that.
