What do most people wear to Paty'o Lounge, guys and girls? Not sure if it's a totally casual (flip flops, shorts, t-shirts) thing or if people break out their club attire such as mini skirts and such for the ladies and nice pants/jeans, nicer shirt and shoes for the guys. Also, if there is a theme night going on which I'm sure is most nights do people keep it on there or do they change for late night partying?? Just trying to make sure we don't over-pack or mis-pack.
There is a little of everything. Some people go all out in theme gear, many are in club gear and the rest are just comfy. People usually dress sexy club for dinner, then change into theme gear, if they chose to dress in theme, after nine-ten pm. The only changing for late night partying is taking your theme gear off to skinny dip in the sports pool, or taking the FMP's off cuz the feet are killing.
I would say most people dress nicely for evening meal and pattyo.. but of course there are those that just party straight through and dont bother changing.. themes tend to be put on after eating and kept on all night.. however lingerie is sometimes covered up after the casino... then I have known jessie sock to be hanging loose all night long...
We will be there feb 16-23. Appreciate the info. Figured it would be a bit of a mix and we'll probably end up bringing nicer stuff. Its always nice to put on some nicer things at night. In feb. when we are going im guessing it wont be too hot at night so nicer jeans might be comfortable.
In my defense it was hot and I had been drinking. :soccer: Most nights alot of people will stay in the theme nights outfit for most of the night, too much of hassel truding back to the room to change3.
In general, those who are regulars or who do their research about TTR before going will dress to impress. That means something different to everyone, but casual shorts, an oversize casual t-shirt, and socks/flip flops are generally off the menu. You'd feel a little out of place wearing that while the DJ or band play "club" type music and many/most at Paty O's are dressed accordingly. I find that it's always easy to find the rookies who came to TTR without knowing what to expect... they'll be the ones trying to fit in while wearing casual stuff and regretting their lack of appropriate wardrobe! Beth will have a suitcase full of club-type dresses and I'll try to find something to look half as good as she does
It always seemed that most people did not change for Patty o's. We found the temp at night in Feb was quite comfortable for club wear or less as the case may be.
I am surprised to hear a TTR regular say that those who do not dress a certain way do not fit in, afterall, nobody knows you and nobody gives a shit. While I agree that many take advantage of the opportunity to dress up, there are plenty who stay very casual and have no problem fitting in.
Just to be clear... it's not that anyone will treat you differently if you don't dress a certain way... it's that we've met a LOT of people who are visiting for the first time who wished they knew that the nightlife was so "vibrant". Many have told us that they didn't FEEL like they were fitting in as they didn't bring anything beyond pool flip flops and khaki shorts. It didn't make us treat them any different, but I know those that we spoke with did feel a little awkward. Just our observation. Dress however you want, and take our observations for what they are. But I bet if you did a search for Paty O's pictures online you'd find a lot of pics that show you what to expect. We're not saying that you need to dress like a 19 year-old "hoochie" to feel like you are fitting in... just that most people bring clothes that are a little more nightlife-appropriate...and whatever your definition is of that is perfectly fine!
