Own Real Estate With NO BANK TRUST: Mexico New Immigration Law and why you should act now | The Yucatan Times Is this accurate? i knew this was approved by one side but not the other. This seems to imply that buying property without a Fideicomiso is permitted for Perm Residents by the new INM law/rules. V, where are you?
Hi, T.J. The article in Yucatan Times reads like a college student trying to bluff his way through an exam. You are right in thinking Permanent Residency status does not give the same rights to owning real estate in Mexico that a citizen has, and does not relieve the foreigner from needing a fideicomiso to own property along the coasts, though the author makes that claim.
I'm reading it as he is saying that when you have Mexican Citizenship you can own without a fidecomiso "So, what are the other advantages of becoming a citizen much quicker?" But I can't find the part where he says Perm Residents can own without a fideicomiso? I think he was talking about citizenship and thus he is accurate.
