This article seems to contradict Article 27 of the Constitution of Mexico.

Hi, T.J. The article in Yucatan Times reads like a college student trying to bluff his way through an exam.

You are right in thinking Permanent Residency status does not give the same rights to owning real estate in Mexico that a citizen has, and does not relieve the foreigner from needing a fideicomiso to own property along the coasts, though the author makes that claim.

I'm reading it as he is saying that when you have Mexican Citizenship you can own without a fidecomiso

"So, what are the other advantages of becoming a citizen much quicker?"

But I can't find the part where he says Perm Residents can own without a fideicomiso?

I think he was talking about citizenship and thus he is accurate.

    You're right, Mat.
