:flagcanada: While we are all getting very excited about our upcoming Halloween trip, I would like to add something. And while I am not trying to damper anyone's excitement, I just thought I would like to send out a note to everyone. There was a serious string of unfortunate incidents that recently took place. Then portions of the town were on lockdown with fear of an additional gunman on the loose. It appears that everything is now under control and no further threat is attainable. I personally would like to offer prayer and positive support to anyone that has been affected. For Bob & I, we have met sooooo many wonderful people at TTR from all over including Canada that we love ! You just don't like to hear about these kinds of things no matter where you are from !
Here is an article to view regarding the incident if you didn't hear about it:

    Thank you

This has been the second attack in as many weeks.

Both terrorists were shoot dead ( comforting thought seeing how sympathetic our courts are )

Prayers/Thoughts go out to those affected.

It was really tough sending Ira to work today in such uncertain times. He's served over 26 years and this is the second time he's had to wear civilian clothes to work. I hugged him extra hard this morning. Security is tight and I know that we will come out on top.

I refuse to live in fear.

The soldier who was shot is from my hometown and I know his uncle from work.
He seemed like an awesome guy.

We have been following the news here in the midwest (U.S.) as we have some Canadian friends Janice works with. Our hearts go out to all Canadians, especially those who lost their loved ones. We also are so impressed with your country's resolve to bravely carry on & not live in fear! Oh Canada! We love our cousins to the north! P.S. Kudos to your Sergeant-at Arms for taking out the perp!

I just went over 2 different overpasses, of a main highway, where literally hundreds of ppl are pulled over and gathered to pay respects to the murdered soldier, as the hearst with his remains is scheduled to pass by in next hr on way to his final resting spot.
His hometown of Hamilton Ontario is about 15 mins from here

I think poppy sales for Remembrance Day (Nov 11) will be huge around here in a few weeks.

It has become a tradition here, and is called the 'Highway of Heroes' (a grass roots initiative) whenever a fallen soldier is killed and is returning for burial in Ontario
