Hey guys, We will be @ TTR from 8/30-9/3 and wanted to squeeze in some other water activities I.e jet ski, Jungle Tour. Most of the place want you to prepay but we wonder if you can wait and when you get there negotiate prices? All responses are welcomed as we are Newbies. Thanks
I would wait... reason being is TTR is SO much fun, you may find you just don't want to leave. Last year Bill and I had a list of things we wanted to do going in. We ended up only do a couple, we just never wanted to leave the resort as we were having too much fun! Just a thought
I agree with the last response. We also had a list of things to do and every morning we checked the board of activities going on and based our decision around that. If you prepay you are committed to that time. I know they have a jet ski stand right down by the beach. You can rent those anytime you find a free moment.
wait just wait until you are at the resort-- as said other things to go and last trip prepaid for a snorkling trip. next day weather sucked and very choppy water. no refund and only took us out.
I would wait as well as I have seen a many friends lose out on $$ spent. You are either having too much fun to leave, are afraid to miss all of the fun, or too hung over to leave lol. The only exception would be the Boobs Cruise.
We did the same thing as SD couple (and we were there the same time as them ... and we ended up booking a catamaran cruise privately with them and a few other people. We never could've done that if we had booked in advance and the price we paid was very reasonable for what we got..drinks, music and a boat at our disposal! I will say if this is your first time in Mexico ever, and you are a history buff, a trip to Chichen Itza, Coba, or Tulum/Xel-Ha is something I would recommend doing at some point. Looks like your trip is 5 days though, the visit to the ruins would take up a whole day.
Sign up in advance for Steve's "Boobs Cruise" if one is scheduled during your time there, it'll be the highlight of your trip. Other activities, wait. Yes, you can negotiate prices for tours or whatever, and most everything tour wise is always available. Many (or most) people have so much fun at the resort they are happy to hang out there.
TTR is a VERY UNIQUE resort....To leave it at times feels like you are missing out on hanging with new friends. As a travel agent this is the one resort that I agree that you should wait and book any other tours of interest after you get to TTR. Definately book Steve's Boob's Cruise in advance.
