    Hey Everyone,

My step-mom was recently diagnosed with ALS, and we are looking for an organic store here in Cancun? For someone living with ALS going organic is the only way.

We were at Walmart, and to be honest were not impressed... If anyone knows of anything that could be better, please any information would be GREATLY appreciated.

    Thanks!

Oops! Hit the wrong button and deleted the original post. Sorry to hear that about your step-mom. I have CHF and I too need fresh fruits and vegetables. While I'm not sure about the organic part, I do know that we had much better luck with the selections/quality at the Soriani's (sp?) next to the Home Depot.

CM - Thank you! She is only 50 yrs old and it's just sad to watch someone who looks so healthy deteriorate so fast. I'm sorry to hear about your situation.... However, I agree - at least you are able to find enough living here that can keep you here!

I actually found some information yesterday while on-line regarding some places I'm going to check out. Here it is for your info as well:

    Amigos de Sian Ka’án.
    Av. Cobá 5, Plaza América, Local 50; C.P. 77500; Cancún; Tel: (98) 84-9583

    Ecocaribe.
    Caretera Puerto Juárez-Punta Sam, Embarcadero Local 3; Cancún; Tel./Fax: (98) 87-0595

    Mano a mano.
10 Avenida Sur lote 1 Local 22-PB y 22-PA, Centro Comercial Plaza Antigua; C.P. 77710; Playa del Carmen.

    Parque Nacional Isla Contoy.
    Boulevard Kukulcan km. 4.82; Cancún; Tel./Fax: (98) 83-0744

They are supposed to be natural and organic! I'll let you know once I visit them!!

I think those are environmental charities...not organic food stores. I've worked with Amigos de Sian Ka'an...they are the best organized and most effective environmental charity working here from what I've seen. They are doing great work.

Soriana has lots of organic items, even Pam and Ketchup and Costco has different types of organic fruits and veggies.

Good luck to you and especially to your mom.

I have gotten my organic milk and a few organic cheeses at Walmart. I'm just saying...
