Anyone ever submit a claim? I paid for the insurance, when I suspected the tickets I was buying were going to end up being changed. I should have read the disclaimer, including the part about not being valid if the trip change was due to work.

We have almost always used Orbitz sometimes bought insurance, sometimes didn't. Two years ago we had to cancel, and we had not purchased insurance. We had purchased in the spring, and cancelled around late Sept. for an end of October trip. They didn't ask any questions at all, and gave us full refund for the hotel. For the flight they gave us a voucher for the price of our plane tickets to be used within one year of the time the flight was scheduled.

The only down side was we were not able to take that flight voucher, and use it with a bundled package to benefit from that savings. Had to purchase room only. So instead we booked our room thru a referral in order to get us back to pretty much our original price.

Worked great for us considering the situation.

I never buy insurance, but I did so when booking this last trip because of issues in the life of the now ex-gf. I had booked through Expedia and the insurance was through AIG. As it happens the ex's mom had a medical occurrence that now requires her full time care, which was covered. When you get to reading all the fine print, most stuff isn't.

Talk with your agent at home.........he/she can get you a policy that covers the specifics that you require!
