Being first timers can someone give us an idea how long it will be once we land ( 11:45 ) till we are poolside with a cocktail ? Thanks Tim n Lisa
Depends on how fast you get your bags and get through customs..could be 20 minutes and if its busy could be 2 hours... its always a roll of the dice
It's about a 25 minute ride from the airport, better part of 2 hrs with customs and baggage. I'd say 2pm you'll be sipping cocktails poolside. Enjoy:icon_smile:
Well, for us been twice 25 minutes with the border and custom .. ( was so freakin busy ) . 25 min road trip including stop a 5 different hotel, we was the last one. So this year, I book everything separatly. 55 $ with US transfert. Now the us dollar don't worth to bring it .. So I'll have couple of 1 $ bill in us, then I'll order pesos soon. `)
Lucky for us is only in April. But what we usually do it's taking 1 drinks in the plane.. Just 1 .. To relax and if isn't a direct flight we take like 1 at the airport.. Make sure you have gum with you or something like that, you don't want to cross border with alcool breath .
This is our 3 trip to Cancun and getting thru the airport to the hotel for us has always been chaos. On our last trip I think there were 10 planes waiting to enter the terminal and we sat on the runway for 30 minutes, customs only had 3 people checking bags it took us at least 2 hours just to get thru customs. Hopefully you can get thru quickly.
it all depends. check out flightstats.com to see how many flights arrive close to your arrival. you cannot control this, but better to know and be prepared. luggage generally comes out in a reasonable time. then you have the crap shoot of red light (inspection) or green light (have a nice day) at customs. ignore the time share sharks on your way to your transportation. book USA Transfers (link at the bottom of this page) for quick and reputable transport. no one wants to to wait 30 to 60 minutes for a bus to load, then wait for for 10 other couples to get dropped off, while hoping they don't grab your luggage, on the way to the last stop, TTR. i only used the included transfer once; my first trip. i quickly learned the benefits of USA Transfers. my shortest time getting to thru the airport is about 40 minutes. longest is 1.5 hours. this is from 10 trips to Cancun
Like everyone says, it's mostly the delay at the airport. The ride from the airport to Temptation is pretty short. Check-in is usually okay but can be a pain if a lot of people are there, sometimes they don't have enough desk people.
I love these questions. If you land at 11:45, it'll take approximately 12 minutes to get down to baggage claim and get your butt in line to grab your bags. No worries. Get the bags is between another 10 and 18 minutes. Go through the customs machine lines with your bags, usually 5 minutes, unless you pop a red light and need searching, which is a delay of about 10 minutes is all. No worries. Then, 10 minute walk and navigation out to find your ride to TTR. This is where you might have a big delay, or only a smll one. Small: You look for the sign with your name on it (Good transport Service) Big delay: You go tot he spot, tell the people where you're going, they tell you where to go and wwait witht he other 20 people and you wait on the bus. (Bad transport option chosen). The ride to TTR is about 35 minutes if you go straight and don't have the Mexican formula 1 driver at the helm, if you do, 25 minutes and a lot of stress. NO WORRIES! They do this all the time... Get to TTR, and if no line, you are getting your room assignment in about 3 minutes. Line makes it longer. ON THE FIRST DAY AVOID THE PEOPLE ASKING YOU TO TALK ABOUT THE BENFITS OF THE RESORT, BREAKFAST, SEEING A MAP OF THE RESORT! ANYTHING LIKE THAT WILL SUCK YOU INTO THE TIME SHARE PRESENTATION! FOR YORU BUZZ'S SAKE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! ... lol... sorry! Go to your room, dudes put on trunks, chicks put on your bikini (bottoms only), wrap up in yourcover up, and go hit it! Our personal record is 52 minutes from touchdown at CUN to the Sexy pool. Don't think we'll ever get that fast again. Charmed trip.
