Hi Everyone! I've posted a few times on the board here and just 'became a fan' of the facebook page for Cancuncare.com but as our trip is now a mere 4 weeks away I'm starting to **PANIC**!!!

In some ways I feel informed, but then in other ways I feel like there's STILL SO MUCH MORE that I need to know before we leave to make sure our group has the greatest time EVER !!!:partytime:

    1) I get that the "SEXY POOL" is the place to be ... but I do know that you basically have to be up at the butt crack of dawn to 'mark your territory' right? But then who wants to be stuck to a chair forever ?!? Any tips on best spots - or best ways to get your seats - or best times - that would all be appreciated!

    2) The whole "our resort is all inclusive ... why ever leave" dilemna ! Ok, it's me, hubby, girlfriend and sister that are making this trip - so that being said - we are sorta 'split' on the whole - "Well we paid ** amount of money to stay here and drink and eat for FREE so WHY do we need to go hit the clubs or other bars and pay all that extra money etc ?!?!? Can I get a bunch of everyone's input on "WHERE" are the best places to hit and "HOW MUCH MONEY" we are talking to make that happen? And also - do you 'walk', 'cab', or 'bus' it to those places ?!?!?

    3) BOOZE CRUISE - this seems fun! Clothes apparently I take it are 'optional' - not that sounds like a RIOT! But I'm not sure if there are cruises that Temptation run - or if it's 'other' services that run them - and we are only going to be there TUE (2/23) - SUN 2/28 - which Sunday you cant count cuz that's go home day ... so basically TUE - SAT - so any help on that issue would be great!!

    4) CASINO - lingerie PARTY - now THAT sounds great !! can't wait for that! however - I'm wondering more about the casino part - is it a full casino (i.e., tables, slots, etc ...) - and do they pay out at all or is it pretty much just locked up tighter than a drum and pretty much everyone loses ?!?!!? Cuz I LOVE to gamble !!!

    5) Tipping - ok I've heard it said that you really should tip - and that's fine - but in american money or pesos - and if so - where do you convert all your money at ... that might be a dumb question - but .... just wondering ...

    6) How safe are the 'safes' in the room ? Any stories about peoples rooms getting broken into and getting stuff stolen ?!?!

ANYTHING that ANYONE else can input would be GREAT !!! :)

    Thanks ALOT ! *~Denise~*

We just got back from our first trip. It was a blast!

All the sexy pool chairs are taken by 5:30am....I put my towels that i kept from the day before out on the chairs by 3am when I went to bed. No one ever messed with them and we got the best spot....The chairs on the beach side of the pool are the best with the most sun, closest to the bar, and view of the entertainment.

Tipping is at your discretion....most people tip the bartenders, they work hard.

    The safes are safe.

The lingerie night is anything goes...the casino night following is play money, so just have fun.

On going outside the resort...We made it out once, but when you start drinking tequila shots at 10am, by the time 10:45pm comes around, you are pretty toasty.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks alot for replying !!! :) So glad you enjoyed your trip! I'm soooo hoping we enjoy our trip too! So then is the casino NOT a real true casino !??! If not that really sucks cuz I love to gamble! But then again -- maybe that's a GOOD thing that it's not a real casino ??!?!!?

I will definitely think about the pool chair/towel deal at 3:00 AM ... God knows I should still be up by then cuz I'm a night owl! I was thinking of bringing towels from home (easy identified if people were to think of snatching the seats ??) - we'll see ... sound like a good idea ?!?!?!?

Thanks again ! And so looking forward to more responses from all the Temptation peeps out there!! :)

I never reserve a seat, as im going to bed as some are reserving their seats, however you can always find a spot on the beach or hang out by the pool bar until you see a set open up, odds are some will as the time goes on.
As far as leaving the resort, I would always recommend you take at least a day trip to see the city and markets, grabbing a beer at Slices, if its night, coco bongo is great and exciting, senor frogs is fun, Ive been going for years, so I dont do all the clubs each trip, but i usually try to pick one and if you go with the hotel on the nights they go, its around 50 bucks and includes all you can drink and the ride there....
If Steve is not doing a booze cruise while your there, try to do the friday night sergios booze cruise with temptations, it brings you out on the ocean for a bit then into the lagoon , big party on the boat and drinks and then drops you off to escort vans that brings you carlos and charlies fora few hours of open bar and buffet food.... thats around 45 bucks and gives a two fer... a booze cruise and a way to get off the resort and see the city...
Casino night someone else can answer, but i believe its more of a fun game played for some fun and humor....
Tipping I consider just like the in the US.. you will find bartenders and waiters that are so exceptional that you may tip them more then others, however im not rich, but i tip a few dollars to as many as I can, but to the ones that are exceptional, i tip a bit more...
    Hope that helps
    Jim

You all should join us for the booze cruise on the 28th. We need 25 and are not close yet. It was just posted yesterday so it is still early. hopefully we will end up having enough people as it sounds like a great time! Check out the post in the top section of the front page.

As for those of you leaving on the 28th maybe we won't end up having enough and it will move up a day? Regardless make your voice heard on that post. It only happens if we have the numbers.

Either way see you all soon. We are at Temptation from 2/24 to 3/2! First visit.

we take about $25 in $1 bill per day just for tipping. a word of caution any badly worn, torn or even marked on money is worthless to the locals. go thru the bills and exchange any questionable bills. in cancun everyone accepts the dollar. we make suere to take care of the every day guys as well--maids, waiters etc. they make crap per day and a few bucks for them goes a long way. we always take trv checks and cash. rick

US Dollars are best, had trips there where we never left but if you do go to Coco bongos. Tips are appreciated.........and get you even better service and spoiled by the bartenders. Remember they only make about $6.00 per day. A $5.00 tip goes a long way with any batender. We leave a $1.00 for the maid daily. The booze cruise is a blast and well if you want to keep tops on...........noone will have an issue with that either. It's just a nice trip out where you get to go crazy. Go and have fun..........God I wish it was April now.

    1) Chairs: We always get chairs the first day (I wake up early) and never sit in them. After that we just ask someone if we can leave our shoes under their chair and hang out in the pool. You can sometimes reserve chairs late in the evening like 4am too. Bringing your own identifiable objects will make it easier.

    2) All Inclusive vs. leave the resort: I recommend not making any plans ahead of time and then see what you think once you get there. We usually do at least one night out at the clubs (I love Coco Bongos) and I have heard tons of great stuff about the two different booze cruises. In addition, the catamaran trip to Isla is pretty fun too. I never managed to figure out the bus but the cab is about $3 per person.

    4) CASINO - lingerie PARTY - The casino night portion is only like 30 minutes so don't get too excited about playing too much. At the end they bid off some t-shirts etc to the biggest winners. The whole night though is a pretty good time including the lingerie competition.

    5) Tipping - Use American money- they prefer it and everything is always quoted in it for the the most part. You can always convert money at the front desk or the airport but we never have had to. Just do the math to figure out the conversion if you leave the resort for any reason. We bring between $150 to $200 for the week just for tipping. The service is worth it. The more you do (drinking at the bar, eating at the restuarants) the more we tip.

    6) Safes: We have had no problems with the safes.

    Have a great time!
