Quite simply, I don't know if I one ever see another opening ceremony as technical or as entertaining as the one in Beijing. If you didn't get the opportunity to see it, check it out when or if it is replayed.

    It was amazing!

i watched all of it, some of the stuff they were doing was absolutely breathtaking. I loved the drummers with the lights, that was crazy....and I dont know if it was just me, but didnt the last torch bearer look like he was going to fall from the sky, it looked like one of the cables snapped before it began taking him around the arena

I agree ... it was amazing!

I kept flipping the stations between the opening ceremony of the Olympics and the Steeler pre season game ...
    BOTH were exciting!

I know it's only pre-season, BUT the Steelers beat Philly!!! :michaelf: yahoo!!!

He did look uneasy. Perhaps they had to release the cable so he could give us that "running" appearance. The light up sticks were cool also. I was also blown away by the "printing press" that mimicked different images... especially when I found out that it was people under there creating the images, and not some sort of computer or automation.

That article was cool as well Janie. I had heard that he was from Sudan originally but didn't know of his history. It was fitting that he was the flag bearer for the U.S.
