Me and his Daddy has worked long and hard to get him to walk without braces and without someone holding his hand. We have taught him to walk by listening to the sound of our steps!! If we turn he turns, We go straight he goes straight! Were very proud of him!! WTG Dallas! physically not strong enough to use a cain so this was such a BIG deal. That is wonderful. i teared up watching the clip. My husband's 5 yo nephew Bobby (lives in NY) has CP and brain damage also. They believe he didnt get enough oxygen at birth. He's not walking yet and I believe he's still in diapers. If he could make the kind of progress your son has made that would be so great. We have hope. Congrats!

Dont ever give up.. Dallas is 8 years old it has taken very hard work HOURS upon HOURS everyday . BUT It CAN happen. Even when you think it cant or when you feel helpless dont give up. we was told he would do nothing but lay there we have prove all the drs wrong and so can your nephew!! PS Dallas is still in diapers.. ONE STEP at a TIME !!! what is small to others is giant to our children. Dallas still has a very long road ahead of him but he is getting there!!

You are right...and my sister in law was told he wouldn't live to see 5 yo, but he will be 6 in a few months! I really don't know how she does it, that woman has the patience of a saint. They have 4 kids and she has work FT. I know she is always exhausted.
