Hello, would anyone know of a good shop I can go and get an oil change. Preferably a shop that takes credit card as payment and where they speak English?

There is a Jiffy Lube on Bonampak across from Superama that will do all that you ask.

I have used Walmart for years although I now hate their grocery. So I drop off my car and go across the street to Starbucks (instead of shopping), have a frappucino and read for a while. They have Quaker State.

    TJ,

I know they accept credit cards at Walmart, but at the oil change do they speak English? Will they accept USD and give you change? If you want to pay with US dollars like say a $100 bill, is that acceptable? Sorry couldn't miss the chance to be a wise A** on the second question.

After living here for 8 years, it is much easier to assume that nobody speaks any English at all....you are in Mexico you know?

    SCM,

Cancun Fun is correct. I don't believe I have ever heard English spoken at the Walmart auto area. If you are hopeless, they usually have a Cust Svc person neat the entrance to the right side door of the store, who speaks semi-English and could probably walk you over to the auto bldg.

Fun, I do not assume anyone speaks English outside of the hotels. It was a question as that was one of the original requests from the OP. I was teasing TJ on the USD as I know and understand his frustration with the exchange at Walmart.

We use the Fiat dealership and they are excellent. Costco is a good alternative if you don't own a Fiat. They take credit cards there. Not much English, but you could always write down want you need, use google translate, print it out and take it with you to give to them. This should prevent any issues because of the language barrier.
