Hi All, We've been largely inactive since our trip report from Week 8 last year. Many of the October folk urged us to join you, throwing down the gauntlet that October is wilder. I will be the judge of that, thank you! Anyway, we've booked Week 8 2015 already as 5 nights TTR, 3 nights pearl (not booked) but in looking at October 2014 I have some questions. 1. There is mention of trip insurance due to it being hurricane season. When I tried booking through Orbitz, the trip insurance (which was $101.xx for 5 nights) specifically excluded hurricanes, tsunamis, etc. It seemed like was more of a "hey, your trip got interrupted or you got fatally ill or died" kind of insurance. I don't need any of that. I just need weather insurance. Are we all talking about the same thing here? 2. I know this is really impossible question to answer, but for those of you who have been during this time, what do you typically see for boobs cruises? We are looking at either Oct 2-7 or 3-8 (Thurs-Tues or Fri-Wed, respectively) and don't want to miss the cruise. Do you usually have a Sunday cruise around this time, or is there a chance it could be Friday (the 3rd) or worse yet, Wednesday (the 8th). Mrs. ATM got a new set of twins and I swear if she doesn't get to show them off, she will personally make each of you Octoberbreasters motorboat her at Paty-O's. And nobody wants that to happen. Especially when AIWC is present. And it will be. 3. Is the Octoberbreast crew going to ruin us for Week 8? We've got a way fun group for Week 8, but you guys seem up to the task of setting the bar higher (if that's possible). If you read my trip report, you know that anything's possible, so adding us to an already wild crowd could be like a setting fire to a fireworks factory. We are looking forward to meeting some new TTR friends in addition to the ones we already have, as well as visiting the resort at another time of year.
We will be at TTR from October 4-11. Right now it sounds like the group is pushing for an October 5th Boobs Cruise, but I am not sure how that works since it will be our first one. Sorry, but I am not sure on the insurance question. I would guess that insurance to cover hurricanes would be a little pricey. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
We're hoping for an October 5th Boobs Cruise as well! You won't regret joining our crazy group trust me!
We will be there sep 26 until Oct 2nd and are feeling that we may miss a Boobs Cruise... shoulda done like you and checked to see when one would likely be scheduled. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
Welcome to the best crew at TTR, CaptMorgan! Captain is my drink of choice so you have to be stand up peeps with a name like that. We will be going from 10/2 to 10/9 and as previously mentioned, we are pushing for a Boobs Cruise on Sunday, the 5th. Last year, our Boobs Cruise was scheduled on a Sunday after having suggested the date and it sold out very quickly so I am guessing we will be successful at selling the idea of another Sunday cruise to Steve and he will do what he can to accommodate us. We booked through Cheaptickets.com and purchased the insurance, but we did not bother to read over the terms of the insurance. Guess what we will be doing later today? We have never had to postpone a trip to TTR because of bad weather, but the insurance just gives us a little extra piece of mind since we are knowingly booking during hurricane season. We are now hoping that the insurance we purchased will cover us under weather related circumstances. Lastly, you are likely to find that this week will be the best week you have ever had at TTR. Will it ruin you for week 8? Probably not because any week at TTR is a pretty great week if you ask us. I do believe that the fun you will have during Octoberbreast will be hard to compete with though. Now get over to the official Octoberbreast thread and start posting. Brent & April
Last year our cruise was on Sunday the 6th and so we are hoping to talk Steve into Sunday the 5th this year. I can't say we'll ruin you for week 8 but I have a feeling you'll want to become a permanent member of Octoberbreast. Motorboating is some that is required in this group both with and without AIWC. We never have done trip insurance for Caribbean trips in October.
I don't know how I missed your TR the first time around but I can say without a doubt that YOU WILL ABSOLUTELY LOVE OCTOBERBREAST and we will be damn proud to claim you and the Mrs! Don't worry about hurricanes. We will be fine. And go with October 3-8. Yes, octoberbreast will set the bar higher than you can even imagine! Start chatting in the octoberbreast thread! As for the insurance: I would recommend looking for and booking a "cancel for any reason" insurance package for the Fall. It usually costs us $100-150 for a week and covers literally any reason we would cancel including if we just felt like it. The only clause is that you need to book it within 14 days of booking your trip and that you will want to claim your trip cost down to the penny to ensure that you are covered. There are websites that offer this. I believe mytripinsurance.com is the one we used last time.
Expedia has a far superior option for trip insurance. We usually do Expedia, but last trip we did Orbitz, and that's when I noticed the difference.
