Is it legal to swim in the sea at night? Been told it isn't. Would love to go for a swim but may have to take a female with me incase i get into trouble:liebe039: if you know what i mean :icon_biggrin: Thanks in advance
Pretty sure it's not illegal to swim in the ocean at night. That being said, at TTR they work on keeping people out of the water for what one could call a couple of reasons. The biggest, and root or the rest, is liability. People going into the water for whatever reason in whatever condition and having problems looks bad for the resort. Be that you are drunk and drown, get a cramp and drown, run into some wild life that lives there and somehow expire and/or drown.. you get the point, doesn’t look good in the headlines. During the day they have a lifeguard on duty to keep an eye out but at night, even with all the security on the beach to keep non-guest out, you could go un-noticed. Solution is that you head down the beach a little to the right, onto another resort without night time security on the beach, and go swimming. It's a win-win situation.. you get wet, and TTR isn’t liable. You'll even find some chairs down there if you want to have time on the beach too. But remember that down there you are on your own so be aware of your surroundings and possessions so you don't have an unpleasant experience. Jamie
Couldn't of said it better... Also be ready to shell out some bribe money for any planned skinny dipping! If you get caught they may try to arrest you. We paid about $300 to get the cop to let us go. lol
We went skinny dipping one night there and security told us there were sharks, so we imediatly ran out of the water...That being said I dont know if there really are sharks sometimes or that they just wanted us out of the water....We were pretty intoxicated so proboly a good idea that we got out
Yeah...I've got a buddy in Alaska that hosts a bear hunt every year. Another friend said the 1st thing he noticed when he got off the float plane (at camp) was a sign that read... "Welcome to Prince of Wales Island - Alaska. Step off the plane and enter the food chain".
Crocodiles When we were there in July of 2010, we went into the ocean one day. The very next day, there was a commotion and it turned out to be a salt-water crocodile right where we were the day before. They closed the beach for about an hour, but we never ventured in again.
Swimming at night in the Carribean... Can only bring to mind 1 of my favorite lines from Jaws...." Cage goes in the water, man gets in cage, shark in the water...Bye Bye my boy its been good to know ya...." Larger sea preditors hunt/eat mostly at night, just a heads up. :icon_sad: Isku
