Having been a member of Cancuncare Forum for less than two weeks,now...I think I have read just about every thread which i thought might offer me help and insight into making a BIG change in my life....MOVING TO CANCUN..to become a permanent resident and participate in the Mexican life style and way of life.... A hopefully, less stressful, slower pace with the time to do the things I have always wanted to do in Mexico... Things which I have always practiced here in the United States - helping others, being a good citizen, participating in community projects, helping the animal shelters and riding my motorcycle 365 days a year... :aktion033:

Having been travelling to Cancun for the last 20 years..and staying in the city with dear Mexican friends for extended periods of time..and speaking "gringo" espanol...or Spanglish..I feel that I have an understanding of the Mexican culture, ways of doing business, interacting with others in both business and social aspects.....the meaning of true friendships and "getting along" with people and neighbors.

I think.....I will be a good "fit"...in Cancun......and it is my wish NOT to act like an American Ex-pat...but to be accepted as a friend and good neighbor. I have extensively researched just about everything I could think of to make my transition as smooth as possible.. real estate purchase, taxes, water, electricity, banking, telephone, internet access, neighborhoods, auto purchase, driver's license, etc, etc....

The contributions by many of the members of Cancuncare ...have been invaluable to me in what to expect, as well as what NOT to expect....and to help prepare me for a major transition in my life.. My sincere thanks to all of the posters..for sharing personal experiences in just about every aspect of living in Mexico. I guess, after reading everything my eyeballs could devour, the thing that I MUST keep in mind is that I am no longer in the USA....but living in Mexico..and just like living in the USA.....take the good with the bad...and learn to "roll with the punches".....!! and......."go with the flow!"

    Thanks to all........ :xyxthumbs:

    We're all happy to help.

But I do wonder why you are making the font in your posts so large? Most of us do not touch the formatting of our posts and I, for one, don't see much reason to. The default font in this forum is Verdana which was specially designed to be read on a computer monitor. It may be boring but it's easy to read with emitted light.

If you want the text throughout the whole forum to be larger you can use your browser's view settings to zoom in. But making your posts have a larger (and different) font than the rest of ours makes your posts difficult to read imho.

    Font

    Mr v8

As a graphic designer I would go in another direction.

However, at least it's not one run on block of copy with no paragraph breaks,
    punctuation or hard returns.

    I hate that.

    know what I mean R.G.?

I don't care about the font -I think your content is heartfelt and spot on.
    Welcome.

JustJimmy , I agree, not using paragraph breaks makes text really hard to read.

I'm glad you've found your short stay so far here useful V8 and hope you'll stick around and continue to ask your questions and provide your opinions.

While as a webgeek myself I would have to agree that your choice of font style and size is not the most easy on the eye, please dont let any comments in that respect put you off from contributing further.

Let's remember we are not out to win any readbility awards here. Not everyone is fully familiar with 'best practice' and I wouldn't want to see that issue make people shy away from taking part in the forum.

To Steve.....and everyone else who has commented in either a positive or negative fashion on my choice of font styles and sizes......I take a God-sworn oath to never, ever violate the standards for posting on this forum.....and all future postings will be in "2 PT Verdana"....which is the standard format for not creating harsh commentary, "expletives deleted" or upset eyeballs or stomachs - SO HELP ME GOD...!! :angel2:
