So I went. I had a ticket into the VIP section and I figured why not. It was interesting to be there, even though it was 13 degrees outside. They estimated the crowd at 15,000-17,000. It was a good visual with the Old State Capitol in the background where Lincoln gave the famous "house divided" speech. I haven't been Obama's biggest fan since he came on the scene. Hell, I was on the staff of one of his opponents in the '04 Democratic U.S. Senate primary. I haven't decided who I'm gonna support in '08 (its too damn early) but it was interesting to go to this nonetheless. Pictures for those who care to see: http://www.picturetrail.com/photos/dherkert
