Me and a buddy are heading to Cancun for Canada's reading week 15-24 of February. We are mid 20s single guys, looking to party and meet girls. I hear the ratio at the Oasis may be a little lopsided, is it similar at the Riu Cancun? What's the difference between those two hotels? Which would you recommend? Thanks!

The only thing Oasis may have going for it is that its more of a party scene... But I imagine its packed with guys (it was when I was there).

Riu's parting is slightly below it, but nothing youd really notice. Its a much better hotel in terms of quality, and youll get all your partying in both at the hotel and at the clubs.

    Id go with Riu.

Thanks for the quick response. I was wondering when I meet a girl at the club will I have any problems bringing her back to my resort for the night? Can I slip the security guard some cash?

Oasis is a dump. The Riu Cancun is very nice. Oasis is so over crowded with mostly guys from what I recall. The Riu Cancun is I think a little more low key, but it is in walking distance from any place you pretty much want to go to meet women..

You need to purchase a red wristband (a guest overnight wristband) for your chica when you find one. I think it runs for 100 bucks. I've heard of people bribing the security but who knows if it actually happens

Avoid Oasis man its a dive.

Riu sounds good, but the issue I have with it, is that almost every guy on this site appears to be going there, so expect that demographic to continue. Its looking like it'll be a massive sausage-meet.

Wise to pick elsewhere I reckon... Go for neither Oasis or Riu.

All the travel agents i went to couldnt get the oasis. Coming from uk i would have to book flights and hotel individually which isnt ideal so a package was best choice via thompson :) thats why were in riu rather than oasis
