Hello Everyone; Newbie here. I will be going to the Royal Mayan, and next door is the Oasis Cancun. Some of my friends are staying there at the same time, and I am hoping to get a wristband so I can go drink with them during the day/night. I don't want to stay in their rooms or anything, just go to the pool/bar/restaurants. I've looked on these forums, I see people buy them from people that are leaving, pay for the replacement band of a current guest, etc. I'd prefer to get the wristband, whether black/purple, before I arrive. Is there a way to do that? The only way I have found is buying similar looking ones from eBay, which seems shady. Check out this auction: Vinyl Wristbands 100 Purple Misprints Over Runs Snap On - eBay (item 260545224219 end time Jun-28-10 05:46:43 PDT) Sorry for the wordy first post. Just want to say I've enjoyed lurking on this site, pretty cool! Thanks.
those look nothing like the oasis bracelets you can buy a day pass for like 25 bucks instead of paying the usual 120 bucks for a replacement bracelet
Ah I thought they did. I stayed at Oasis Viva last year, I was under the impression is was the same style bracelet (L-shaped, 3/4" diameter). I'd do the day pass, but I'd like to be able to stay past 6 PM.
that shade is too dark i saw people after 6 with the day pass eating at restaraunts but once they passed a security guard they were asked to leave.
I guess the best option is to have someone cut off their wristband and pay the replacement fee. I'll bring some superglue! What's it cost, $125?
I would be extremely careful doing this. I did this for my mate when we were there and he ended up some how getting caught. He was leaving the hotel to go get something from shops across the road. Security stopped him asking him why he was leaving and to check out. He tried hard to explain that he wasnt leaving and a big argument started. They ended up running the room number and ID on the wrist band and found out it wasnt him and made him pay for the amount of nights I had my room for. He actually only used it for 4 days. It worked fine but if you come under scrutiny be careful. I had an issue leaving the hotel myself when checking out, they would not allow me to walk out of one side of the hotel and go to the other side to check out and had major dramas just trying to checkout.
one more question, if anyone is still looking at this thread... when you get a daypass, is it just a piece of paper or a special wristband of some sorts?
