I can get a job pretty much anywhere with my degree and engineering experience, just wonding how many people are close to NC and or have been there and like it?? Raleigh, Charlotte area.

Never really been there. But my cousin is in the process of moving there to be closer to her boyfriend. From what she has said it is a wonderful area! And she too found a job there pretty easily.

    Good luck!

What kind of Engineering degree do you have? My husband works for a Civil Engineering firm in the Charlotte area and they are ALWAYS looking for EXPERIENCED people.

    Nice, moderate climate there.

Raleigh and Charlotte aren't exactly neighbors though.

Charlotte is an up and coming modern city, lots of tech jobs there, and you can hop on I-85 and cruise down to Atlanta very easily. It's in the southern, middle of NC, which makes it a pretty good haul to the beaches.

Raleigh is part of the Research Triangle... Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill. It's in the Northeastern part of NC. I've been to Raleigh, there's a lot to do in the area. It's closer to I-95 which makes heading north or south easy.

I haven't heard much bad said about the place actually, except when the hurricanes are battering the Cape

I helped my friend move from Oklahoma to NC last summer. She was a PE/dance teacher. She moved to the Raleigh area...Cary to be exact. Cary is a suburb of Raleigh...and is a VERY nice place to live and commute and/or find a job. Lots of nice resturants, shopping, houses. There really isn't any slummy area part of town that I found...pretty upscale all the way around. I would almost live there. LOL...too close to the big city for me.

    p.s. she loves it there.
