No AC at the resort is ridiculous

We just got back, and am not very happy about the absolute lack of concern from management about fixing the AC that has obviously not been working for a while. Many rooms had both doors propped open to get a breeze to go through. Almost no AC in the Italian, and even the Premier sales room was hot.

Yea, I know that the weather was great, and it was never very hot. My gripe is that they seem to have zero intention if fixing it. We have plans to go back in April, but will not be going back to a resort with no AC.

my guess would be that yep they dont care as they are running down the resort and not spending a bent nickle to fix it as the place is getting ready to be levelled and renovated ? JMHO.

One of those quaint instances where they seem to be on Mexican time down there - nothing ever seems to be urgent compared to what we're used to at home. No AC wouldn't bother me at all, but I'm a little different than most. When we get to the room the first thing I do is open the door and leave it that way. We eat in Margaritas because it's open air...we're frozen for so many months each year in Wisconsin that I gladly soak up the heat whenever I can.

The planned construction is so far off, I can't believe they will just let the place fall apart. For those who suffer without AC...it would suck to be uncomfortable all week. We just happen to enjoy the heat...which is why we no longer take winter vacations in Mexico.

HA HA we hear ya Scottydog, however right now here it's -36 C a few cool evenings will be alot more fun than sitting here freezing our asses off...
We don't care for the air conditioning period the only one the turns it on is the staff,we shut it off as soon as we walk in.. fine for us, The people who want it or need it.. I can understand that and wouldn't be happy.

    !

If you asked Jamie...she'd opt for AC sometimes, but she puts up with my love of fresh air. We just rarely use it at home. Today - and all week in Wisconsin and the northern part of our continent here it's frickin' freezing!

Haha I'm so with you! We never turn it on but that might be our Canadian blood! We don't even have an air-conditioner at home. Its going to be -35 here later today haha.

That being said I like the option of turning it on if we needed to and I would be pretty frustrated if I wanted it and it wasn't available.

I agree with you about liking the warm weather and lot of it. I am not so sure about sleeping with the hot air blowing over you. Our room was on the ground floor, and really hot when walking in after being around the pool all day, and then trying to get ready for a night out.

I really don't think they will quit fixing anything either, but very frustrating in the mean time.

Oh right I forgot about that part... trying to get ready without A/C.. that has to be the worst.. well for me... I think the most frustrating thing about your original post for me would be that it didn't appear that they were trying to do anything about it. Did they at least offer a room change?

I think it happened right over Christmas day didn't it from what I heard? I can only imagine how easy it is to find HVAC repair guys at that particular time.

Sorry to hear about your troubles though
