    Hi
My husband and I (30s) have never been to cancun before and can't decide where to stay! TTR or GP.

Having never been there i would like the nice beach you see on the websites, and I've heard that TTR is more like a lake/lagoon-is that right?

We like to socialise and have fun partying and getting loose.. but not right into the lifestyle so the thought of everyone being drunk and half naked all day every day and constant partying for 11 days makes me worry it will be too much, and not being right into the lifestyle I am a bit worried TTR will be too full on and i will feel pressured if i dint feel like joining in with everything... so im thinking GP might be better? Don't want to be bored though as we do like to party, a lot, and we like to meet people during the day, drink, then kick on at night and get amongst the fun.

Will GP be too quiet? Or is there adequate night life there too? Thinking of doing a boob cruise, and are there bars/night clubs to go to our does everyone just stay at their resort?

We are thinking of going for 11 nights...but reading other posts that seems long...any thoughts will be appreciated thanks!

If you and your husband enjoy dancing then go to TTR.....it's a no brainer.
Do not worry about not being in the lifestyle and going to TTR. We have been 8 times, are not in the lifestyle and have never had an issue making friends and enjoying ourselves.
The GP is more into cliques than than you'll ever find at TTR. Yes, we went there in 2012. No doubt in my mind that you will be embraced by a group at TTR and make friends for life!
TTR has the least judgemental, open, caring and fun loving people you'll find anywhere!

We are going to TTR in 2 weeks and are sooooo excited!
We are also booked for 12 days at the GP for October and have gotten nothing but grief from "regulars" at the GP.
Trust me.....go to TTR this summer before the transformation.....it'll be the best vacation you've ever taken!
Please return to this forum when you get back and let me know if you made the right choice!?

    Thanks Joe
You have put my mind at ease...a little ha ha
If i don't go topless will I been out of place? I'm guessing once I've had a few it may come off from time to time, but im not the kind to walk around in nothing but a g-string all day;-)

You will absolutely NOT be out of place nor judged for leaving your top on. That being said, I have seen many that have said they will not remove it, but after a few days get comfortable enough to pop the top and never look back!
Small percent wear G-strings. Most wear traditional tie side bikini bottoms.
TTR makes an average woman feel sexy and confident and confidence is sexy in itself!

Go and be prepared to wear a 'sexy red dress', a 'little black dress' and a sexy white dress for 'White Night'. Pack lingerie in case you are confident enough for lingerie Night on Thursdays. Pack some cute novelty underwear for your hubby to wear too! Stay for a week if you can, every night of the week is unique!

We've been to GP twice and TTR once. Our first trip to Cancun was to GP, and it was our first trip without the kids ever, and we're 45. We definitely wanted that nice Cancun beach look, and GP fit that perfect. We had a good time there two years in a row, and definitely saw lifestyle people there.

Last year we went to TTR. The beach is definitely way worse, however you can actually get in the water there. Really aggressive surf at GP. If it gets too wild for you at TTR, there is always the quiet pool, to get away from it for a while.

However, if it's too calm at GP, you can't just invent a party. I'll doubt we'll be back to GP, if that helps.

We're going to try and introduce nights of dancing to the Sixties Lounge in October! I'm going to talk to the Head Concierge in June to see what options we have.
We LOVE Paty'Os!!! Have to get our dancing fix somehow!:lotsofmichaelfs:
Like Restling said, you can do water sports right there at the TTR beach... Stand up paddle board, Hobie Cats, Kayaks, wind surfers. You have to depart the resort and go to a lagoon marina to enjoy water sports at the GP. TTR's is not nearly as pretty, but a pretty beach is only a $0.75 bus ride away!

    Thanks guys

We are going for 11 nights....
Im bummed about the beach not being nice at TTR.. how bad is it-I live in QLD in Australia so im pretty spoilt beach wise, and won't get in if it's murky or full of weed and rocks-?

i have also read they have started construction and the noise starts early...im not sure i can deal with this after big nights.

Ask for a room in the 5000's. Should be quiet.
The whole north side of the Cancun "7" as viewed on a map is relatively waveless. There are no rocks, but you may encounter sea grass. Going to a beautiful beach is so quick and easy by bus.
The most attractive beaches in Cancun are red flagged (dangerous) most days of the week, BUT they are a gorgeous sight!
The beach itself is raked every morning and is kept very clean.

Denise Gaume was the best entertainment person when we were there. She is now at the front desk, and the person you should try and contact. She is up for a good time, and can likely make that happen for you. One day we got rained out, and she got the karaoke set up in the 60's bar for us.

    Excellent! Thanks!
Denise is the name I was given.
We are middle-of-the-road TTR veterans. We just want nightlife other than sitting at the Tiki. I'm sure you understand after having spent a few nights at Paty'Os!
