Hi everyone, We are heading to the TTR for the first time in May. We are a bit nervous, but excited to getaway, have some drinks and some fun. We are there from May 25 - 29th, a very quick trip to check things out. We have a few questions and were hoping you could help. - Since it's off season is the resort really quiet at the end of May? - How is the weather? I know some people say it's rainy season. Yuck! lol - Do the majority of women go topless around the resort? (except meals of course) - Will we be hassled by staff who want us to buy into the VIP membership, timeshare scenario? - One of the theme nights when we are there is the Bach. white glow night. It says something about togas. Does everyone really wear togas? Or just white clothing for glowing possibilities? - What do the guys wear on theme nights? I assume the ladies wear more of the costumes and lingerie and the men just dress to impress? - We have read a few posts that make us a bit concerned about the pushy, grabby nature of single men at the resort. Is this a rare nuisance, or something that many of you have encountered? No, should mean no right. - And what is the age range of the majority of guests at TTR? We are in our late 30's. Thanks in advance for the helpful suggestions for these nervous newbies!
1. Since it's off season is the resort really quiet at the end of May? May is the biggest repeater month so anytime is May is not quite at TTR. 2. How is the weather? I know some people say it's rainy season. Yuck! lol If it does rain you will be happy for the colol down as it only lasts for about 15 minutes. May is the best month weather wise. (October is a close second if you don’t worry about the hurricanes) 3. Do the majority of women go topless around the resort? (except meals of course) It’s about a 50/50 split. If you want to, go for it. If not, there is no pressure to go topless. 4. Will we be hassled by staff who want us to buy into the VIP membership, timeshare scenario? You will get asked when you first arrive. Once you give them an answer they don’t bother you the rest of the trip. 5. One of the theme nights when we are there is the Bach. white glow night. It says something about togas. Does everyone really wear togas? Or just white clothing for glowing possibilities? Usually just white clothing. Folks are bringing glow bracelets, necklaces and such to give it the glow part. 6. What do the guys wear on theme nights? I assume the ladies wear more of the costumes and lingerie and the men just dress to impress? You’re right, it’s mostly about the ladies, but guys do try to fit in where they can. 7. We have read a few posts that make us a bit concerned about the pushy, grabby nature of single men at the resort. Is this a rare nuisance, or something that many of you have encountered? No, should mean no right. There will always be one or two jerks where ever you go. For the vast, overwhelming majority of single guys, this is not a problem. You may or may not encounter the jerks while you are there. Don’t worry something that hasn’t happened yet. Enjoy your vacation instead. 8. And what is the age range of the majority of guests at TTR? We are in our late 30's. Age ranges from 21-70 with the vast majority being 30-60 but acting like 20 year olds. We call it our frat party for adults. Check out the May Roll Call (the end of the thread usually has the latest roll call listing) for who is going to be there the same time as you. Add an avatar so we know who to look for and let us know your first names so we know who to scream for in the middle of the night! See you there…. Jamie
Thanks Thanks for the help and suggestions! Can't wait!! We are also a little bit concerned about photos taken by others. We both have professional careers and don't need any interesting pics ending up online. Any of you encounter that?
Not enought to worry about. People are generally pretty respectful of others in that reguard. What are your first names? Jamie
Jamie and Jules. Thanks for the assistance, this site is great for preparing for our trip. We are a bit shy and a little freaked out so this really helps get ready and feel more comfortable.
We are heading to the TTR for the first time in May. We are a bit nervous, but excited to getaway, have some drinks and some fun. If that's your intent, then this is the place for you, more then any other resort in Cancun! We are there from May 25 - 29th, a very quick trip to check things out. We have a few questions and were hoping you could help. While we are part of the June Junkies group going June 7-19, we can still add to your questions. Jamie is a long time repeater and a good one to get honest answers from. This is our 3rd straight trip to TTR and 7th to Cancun. - Since it's off season is the resort really quiet at the end of May? Not with the Mayhem group. There really isn't a very quiet season at TTR from what we gather on this forum! - How is the weather? I know some people say it's rainy season. Yuck! lol Forecast will say rain every day, but don't bother watching or listening to it. Seldom rains, just a slight chance because of being on the ocean, and a very brief shower or t-storm if it does. Never seen it rain the time of year you're going very long, if at all! - Do the majority of women go topless around the resort? (except meals of course) Sometimes its a 50/50 split, but seems like when we are there it's more 30/70 tops/no tops til lunch, then after lunch, more of a 70/30 ratio. - Will we be hassled by staff who want us to buy into the VIP membership, timeshare scenario? No means no. Let them know you're not interested, don't have time for it, and be firm. Won't be an issue at all! - One of the theme nights when we are there is the Bach. white glow night. It says something about togas. Does everyone really wear togas? Or just white clothing for glowing possibilities? They just changed this theme night about 1 1/2 months ago. Most from the discussions on the forum aren't crazy about the toga idea, and our June Junkies group has chosen to keep it the way it was, with all white clothing, and wearing a lot of LED and glow accesories! - What do the guys wear on theme nights? I assume the ladies wear more of the costumes and lingerie and the men just dress to impress? Depends on the groups. I'd say at least 50% of the guys in our group dress for the theme as well. Resorts motto holds true here, "Nobody knows you, Nobody gives a shit!" - We have read a few posts that make us a bit concerned about the pushy, grabby nature of single men at the resort. Is this a rare nuisance, or something that many of you have encountered? No, should mean no right. No means no, absolutely. In our previous 2 trips, once we had a large group of singles from England, very loud, very drunk, but very respectful as far as their behavior towards women. Not a problem. I haven't seen very many groping complaints, I think I've seen more complaints about single guys just being stupid and obnoxious and perhaps not respectful at times. But like Jamie said, you have this lots of other places as well, anywhere there's alcohol involved. In fact it's less then a problem then you would have back home at your local bar or club. It's a rarity when it does happen, and there's enough others to come to your defense or help out if the situation arrises, and if it did happen, report it to staff and security and it will get taken care of! Have fun, doubt you encounter any problems! - And what is the age range of the majority of guests at TTR? We are in our late 30's. When we go in June, the crowd seems to be average age of 38-42. That's average. Still many 20 something couples, lots of 30 something couples, lots of 40 something couples, less 50 something couples, and some older sprinkled in. Age really though is irrelevant at TTR. You'll meet the best people on earth, regardless of age, color, size, etc! Find some friends for life, I promise! Thanks in advance for the helpful suggestions for these nervous newbies! Just make sure you do a trip report when you get home, for everyone to know how your first time was, and when you'll be going back! YOU WILL GO BACK, longer then the feeler trip! LOL Ed
The way we look at it, whether it's rainy season or not, it is Bodyshots & Sex Season™. Fuck worrying about the weather...you guys are going on an adult vacation...so act like teenagers. :aktion031:
