My wife and I are headed to Temptation Resort for my 30th birthday August 5th - 11th. It will be our first time to Temptation. We are looking for any advice for first timers. We are not uptight or prude by any means. Just looking for tips on how to get the most fun put of the trip.

Welcome! This site is filled with lots of questions, answers, tips, and suggestions. Take a long read through the different threads, use the search function at the top of the page, and feel free to ask any questions to which you cannot find answers.

In general, however, if you are easy going and looking to party with other adults, you'll have a great time!

    Be awesome!

No need to be shy...pretty much everyone is friendly too. :daveandmo:

Participate in the games around the pool if you want to test your ability to be outgoing...everyone will remember you the rest of the week regardless of how good or bad you did.

And don't forget your undies...but you only need them on lingerie night :xyxthumbs:

This site is a great way to start, we have met so many friends on this board before we even got to the resort, that way we could plan our theme nights and get hyped up before we went, then it is so nice to finally meet everyone after talking on the board for so many months, also take an insulated cup for the pool, and if you are checking in early pack your swimwear where you can easily get to it, our rooms are never ready we usually get there between 11-12 so we change in the lobby bathroom and start enjoying the sexypool right away, no wasted time!!

Totally agree with sexysadie, pack at least one swim suit in your carryon bag to change into. Your first stop should be the gift shop to buy cups ($6 US), the cups they serve the drinks in at the pool are about 6 oz, but you can get bigger cups at the gift shop. Then hit the lobby bathrooms to change and your off to the pool to start enjoying your vacation. The folks in the lobby will try to pull you to the side to sell you a timeshare at checkin all in the name of the "introduction" to the resort. It is a waste of 2 hours on your first day. I suggest politely thanking them, saying no, and get on with your vacation. You can always go back the next morning to get the skinny after you have had a day to explore the resort. (After all, you wouldn't buy a car without test driving it first, so why would you want to buy a time share without trying out the resort amenities first.)

First let me state that tipping is not mandatory. That being said . . .

Tip the bell hop a couple of bucks and always tip the maid. I suggest $5 the first day then $2 each day there after. If there is anything you want for the room, write down the list an leave it with the tip. Our list usually reads something like this:

    Hola senoritas,
Por favor, deje tres aguas, 6 de Coca Cola, 6 Dos Aquis y toallas en la habitación cada día. Apreciamos su trabajo duro. Muchos gracias.

    Translation:

    Hello ladies:
Please leave 3 waters, 6 coca cola's, 6 dos aquis and extra towels in the room each day. We appreciate your hard work. Thank you

You can also just list out the things you want and they will do their best to get what you want. The staff's english is most likely better than most of our spanish, so they will likely understand what you want, but they do appreciate it when you attempt to throw in a bit of Spanish.

Tip the bartenders for better service. Use your own judgement as to how much, but as a general rule, I find the bartender I want to use for the day then tip a $5 in the morning and about a buck every other round or so. I usually try to use the same bartender for the whole trip as they will remember your drink choice and give you great service. Last year, we could barely get within 5 feet of the bar before our drinks were ready, even if there was a line to get drinks.

We also tip the servers in the restaurant each day. For buffett or Margarita's $2 per meal. More for the reservation restaurants. The servers will remember you and try to have a spot ready for you as soon as you walk in the door of the restaurant.

I hit the bank before we leave and get about $200 in 2 dollar bills. The oddity of the currency will help you be remembered.

Drink at least one full 1.5 liter bottle of water each morning when you wake up. Drink 2 full glasses of water with each meal. Hydration is key.

If you are light skinned or is you don't have a base tan, buy and use skin protection in copious amounts. Amy sells some killer skin care products several times a week by the pool. They are more expensive but work great. (She also has a to die for accent and a killer body!! *evil grin*) Being tan when you come back from vaca is nice, but being sunburnt for three days is a tough price to pay.

For her, take the sexiest bikini you plan to wear, then buy two more that are racier than you would ever wear back home.

For him, buy 2 bikinis or outfits that you would love to see her in, keep them as a surprise until you are a couple of days into the vaca, then surprise her with them.

That's a great idea I never thought of :aktion060: I seem to always get her a few bikini's before we leave and she has fun trying them on a day or two before our trip. Next time I will have to surprise her with 1 after we arrive :icon_wink:

Sunfun.... Thanks for the tips! I can't wait for this trip. I hope we can meet some people from this forum while down there, participate in theme nights and hop on a Boobs Cruise.
