:aktion030:Hi all! We will be visiting Cancun for the first time next July. I have a couple of questions and would love to get some advice! I am pretty sure we have to decided to stay at the Golden Parnassus. Temptation sounds fun but by reading the reviews, GP has a much better beach and I have to have a good beach! I think GP will give us the atmosphere we are looking for! I am pretty convinced adults only is the way to go! First vacation without kids in forever!!! Anyways, I have been checking travel sites for a few weeks now to get some pricing. Is it better to book this far in advance or should we see a shift in prices? Nothing has changed too much since I have been looking.... all of the sites are pretty comparable. Those of you that have done this before, should we see a difference in price if we wait for awhile. I wasn't sure if prices would increase or may possible go down if we wait a bit longer. Is there a site that any of you prefer over the others? I have been checking orbitz, hotwire, travelocity, expedia, priceline, bookit.... I think I have hit them all! Next question..... how long does it take (approximately) to get out of the airport and on your way to the hotel? I want to be there as close as we can to check in time. We are getting in on a Saturday and I want to enjoy Saturday night. We are leaving the following Friday and I don't want to miss out on weekend activities. I don't know what to expect since I have never been out of the country before. I think we are going to book USA Transfers since it is so highly recommended on this site. And finally, is it better to book excursions before or do you get them cheaper in Cancun. We are only looking at doing a couple but wasn't sure the best way to go about it. Thanks in advance!
Well you are right, the prices can go up or down. Prices also vary tremendously depending on the departure airport. If it is an OK price, I 'd go ahead get 'em and quit looking. Saturday is a zoo at the airport. "Many" timeshare weeks change over on Sat so it's like the entire hotel zone arrives and departs Sat, leaving on Fri will be better. Hard to say how long, if unlucky it can be a wait, couple hours (too many arrivals simultaneously and maybe also short a few agents, whatever). Also it can look bad, but they are good at moving people through. Hard to count on anything, just go with the flow. You can get lucky too and breeze right through. Booking excursions once there is fine. If you are dead set on a day and time, just book soon after arrival.
