Ok so I want a new computer, preferably a laptop. My current system, a fouryear old desktop HP Pavillion something or other is stating to piss me off by coming up with the world supplies of errors, slows up and is a pain up the arse to drag up the stairs when I want to lie in bed and surf porn   . Apple I books have been suggested as a good buy at the mo with excellent features for music / movies so what I want to know has anyone any suggestions or has first hand experience of the I Book. I'm looking at blowing £600 / $1200 US and will basically require it for surfing, music and a few office based programmes ( excel, word ect ect ) Suggestions gratefully accepted, thanks in advance........  Ian
I got a Dell Inspiron E1505 last December. It's a bit bulky if you are going to travel a lot with it but other than that. I love it.
I have a Macbook now since my other laptop is Trojan Horse virus-ridden and I couldn't fix it, and really liked those white Macs........at first it's a bit odd getting used to mac things (no usual copy and paste!), but now I really like it. It's also bluetooth enabled (mouse as well), which is cool for making your own ringtones and other geeky things like this to send to your cell phone. I never had any problems with it, which I find amazing (as anything I buy usually craps out on me).
I Macs are good, although apple products have a notoriously short shelf life and the customer service is utter shite ... can't go wrong with a Dell machine in my opinion, and they usually have some good offers going aswell... http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/t...k/en/national_press?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs check the papers
My sister and I both have toshiba laptops. They are considered one of the best in the laptop market. I love mine and it's never given me any trouble. Prices are pretty reasonable too.
