I'm going to trial some new advertising for a while and see how things work out. The new ads which will appear as the second post on each page i.e. post #2, post #16 etc. The ads will be blended text ads with no sound, or animation, and clearly marked as ads. They will also be contextual ads targetted to the theme of the post where possible. I'll run them for at least a week and then assess what affect there is both on traffic on the forum and income generated. Any comments welcome below, and please vote in the poll to help me gauge feeling.
it wont cause me to post less, but i find it a bit distracting and was confused at first when i saw them
I don't like them. I think there's enough advertising at the top and bottom of the page, as well as throughout the site. However, I'm not paying to run this thing so I understand that the bills must be paid. I think the fringe/occasional posting member that posts might be more put off by seeing advertising every time they peruse a page looking for information.
I think post #3 should be a picture of Danni in a pretty new dress so we feel better of where the money is going to. :wink: The photo should progress with time. Later we'll see Dani with her new Nanny, then her new pony. Later we'll see her practicing at her new grand piano. Over time we can watch with wonder as she waves to us :wave: from her hew Porsche and as she's jaunting off in the company jet.
