I know it has been talked about as far as WIFI in the rooms but has anyone ever noticed do the rooms have a network jack for wired internet? I know we are on vacation but it is a good way to keep in touch with kids, office in case of problems & other people at the resort. Or has anyone come up with a good way other than business office I think premium members get free access? Any premium members wish to share the password for our time?
You won't find an ethernet port in the rooms. I don't think most people would make use of one if there were considering most people carry phones, tablets etc that work on wifi anyways. The Wifi is spotty, but it is what it is. Premier members can use a laptop in the Premier check in office but it's not that much better for connection speed. My advice is to largely expect to unplug and check on the kids and work when you come home. You might even have fun! lol
What I was thinking was I could bring my own router to use wifi & yes we will have fun that was the part of being able to connect with others during the trip.
Even a premier member is one password per room so no they can't share the password. as once it's been used you can't used it on another computer. Envoyé de mon SM-G900W8 en utilisant Tapatalk
When we were there back in September it did seem like the speed was quite a bit better...the signal really depends on where you room is (I do know that in the buffet there is basically NO signal to be had)...
If you're lucky, your room phone will work when you need to make a restaurant reservation...you're not going to find a wired network jack. It's just not that kind of resort. As others have mentioned, the wifi is spotty and expensive. I generally pay the extra on my AT&T iPhone to get a Mexico data plan and use it as a hotspot for my laptop or tablet...and the phone itself of course. I've found that it's 100x better than the resort Wifi...but also quite expensive of course but is stone-cold reliable.
I have Verizon and I just get their global plan for 1 month to use while in Cancun. I have an I-phone. I have used the I-phone as a hotspot to have wifi for my other devices. I believe it was less than the 35.00 offered by the resort. I didn't have a ton of data, but more than enough to send and receive many emails daily for a week. I also find it is fairly cheap to have a global plan and use that to text the kids. I think it was .5 to receive a text and a little more than that to send one.
