Okay, I am the game leader tonight for the youth. I have come across some ideas, but I kinda wann incorporate them all into one game....see tonight is all game night, no service, just crazy stuff. So...here is what I am gonna do...I have already text'd all of the leaders that they must bring or wear an old shirt tonight. So mess is definitely going to be alright among the leaders. My idea is for the kids to 'win' amounts of money (I printed monopoly money out) from various games. Possibly trivia (need yoru input on that one, maybe a good website for stuff they would know)...some sort of relay race where the team wins money....again, your input on a fun type of race....and one other game that they can do that they can individually win money, or as a team. Then at the end, we will have an 'auction' type setting. Each leader will be at the front, with a table full of whipped cream pies, ice cream, etc. (your ideas on food ideas too) The auctioneer will hold up an item off that table and the kids can either use their own money, or poole together their money and buy the item to put on the leader of their choice. Make sense? So...could you please help me out here? thanks!
Food ~ chocolate sauce, whip cream, craem puffs, assorted jellies (gotta have some nasty stuff), butter, peanut butter, BBQ sauce, can of creamed corn...ewwww. Games ~ perhaps pillow sack races and depending on when the teams finish, they get certain $$ amounts. You could also try to do a jeapoardy game. I hope that helps.
I think Angie has come up with some great suggestions. You could come up with some of the trivia questions by looking at the Pop Culture version of Trivia Pursuit.
thanks guys! The food ideas are great I am going to do a relay race of trivia. Break them up into teams of 8..should have at least 5 teams, probably 6 or 7. I have found a list of 'simple trivia' broken up into rounds. We will line them up, a team about 30 feet from the wall, have a big piece of paper taped on the wall with a leader there to judge at each paper. I will read the question, and at the end of the question, they have to run and the 1st person to correctly write the answer legibly will get the point for their team. Leader will mark on the paper the score. Winning team at the end of each round will get $$$. Another game we will do is I've got a few pairs of larger clothes from one of the other leaders that hunts....camo stuff/boots/hat....gonna have them piled in a pile in front of the contestant. They will compete against one other in speed and agility. When the music starts, they have to get completely dressed in the clothes and undressed before the other person. The catch? They have a balloon that they have to keep suspended in the air the whole time by bouncing it up over and over again. Winner gets $$$ With a larger bill, say maybe a $500.00 bill, take two kids, When they come up, give each a 500.00 dollar bill, which they must put in their wallets and place back in their back pockets. On the signal, they go for their wallets, gunfighter style, and each must take the dollar out of his wallet, put it on the floor and then sit on it. The last guy to do so has to give the other guy his 500 dollars, and he loses. I must go dig up some wallets, cause I am sure not everyone has a wallet. Now...here is the auction thing....my idea is to have a box, they can't see what the prizes are...and pull out each item, let them bid on it....with each item getting progressively messier. My ideas: water gun, some food items, a shook up soda in a bottle. What order should things be in...obviously the pie last...
OR...wow, just thought of this...what do you think? instead of a table of goods...how about a box full of balloons with the food substances in them....they can throw them at the leaders, bust them, whatever....they have no idea whats inside. Yeah....
Well, if you want my personal opinions on greed and soiled church leaders I'll be happy to promote my cynicism.....
