I already post it but no one answer me !! I need to know before tomorrow morning My bf is passport exp June 2013! I know in Mexico your passport only need to be valid for your trip! Westjet told to don't have any problem they wants to be 6 months after!! But I don't have time to renew it!! If yes I'll go to ottawa and renew it Tomorrow! Also I'll have 22 the 27th march!! Did I'll get problem to check in? Don't want any misunderstood my life is stress enought with that! And can I bring perfume or it's risky to lose it ( perfume is 100$) thanks I can't wait to be there I'll die tomorrow 20 cm of snow ( approx: 10inch) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I went last year with a passport the was due to expire in 3 months. I was given a little bit of a scare when Westjet agent told me I could be refused in Mexico and it would depend on the person I got in Mexico at the entry. I kept my mouth shut and didn't make a mention of it. I was looked at for a period of time but let through. Thank God. But 6 months is usually the requirement for passport expiration. You can get a renewal the same day at any passport office for a price. Don't risk taking the perfume on the flight. Pack it well and put it in your checked bag. they don't come out and say 6 months but they strongly advise from GOC website,,, I had the same problem and renewed since most countryies req the 6 month thing why don't they renew passports 8 months ahead of time ? Well I traveled to cancun on October 5th,2012 and my passport expired onFebuary 18th, 2013 and I Didn't have any problems with a USA passport. As far as perfume goes ......throw in a ziplock bag and then put it into another ziplock bag and wrap it in clothes and put it in your checked bag and you will be fine ......if you take it in a carry on and it's more then 3oz they will take it. Hi Jess, Your passport will not be a problem. Six months is plenty of time, and he will have no trouble getting into Mexico. If your perfume is under 3 ounces, you can bring it in your carry on. If it's over that, it has to go in your checked bag, but it's not forbidden. Just pad it very well because it could get broken! --Laura

Personally it may be inconvenient to go to Ottawa to renew but I think it would be worth it to go get it renewed. Better safe than sorry.
