HEY anyone with information on long term rentals give me a shout, gonna move back to cancun for awhile. any info would help,,, thank you
I would suggest checking out the listings in airbnb... why? Typically they're fully furnished, you can try before you buy so to speak. Just contact them upfront and ask first if they're willing to do a long term deal. Unless of course you're planning to up and move hear and stay very long term, in that case yearly lease is the way to go and getting something nice for decent value unfurnished.
Could someone advise how to find a house or good apartment in good area in Cancun for rent for 3 or 6 or 12 months if I don't speak Spanish? Should I stay in Hotel and search in newspapers ? Or can I find English speaking real estate manager who could help ?
Ok here is my experience. You can walk around the area you want to stay in look for rental signs. this may be helpful. It is probably better to search during low season rather than high season. Personally - while you can stay at a hotel if you have money - a hostel will be a cheaper option (not really the site to push hostels I guess though) There are also lots of sites you can look craigslist tends to cost a bit more - prices are always higher in craigslist for rentals. If you know some spanish then there are a bunch of other sites you can look at. If you don't know spanish knowing someone who does could help as apparently it is easier to do rentals - and know what you are getting into if there is a rental agreement. When are you looking at renting. If my grades bomb out I'd like to head to Mexico, to stay for the winter, after my current term of study. I know a little spanish and I have rental hunted before for a bit. There are some pretty good deals like you are talking only a few hundred dollars for a house per month (however this is a crash pad essentially) It all depends "where" you want to stay. Do you know words for apartment and rent ex. se renta (FOR RENT) el apartamento apartment, flat el piso floor, flat, flooring, story, storey, deck la vivienda dwelling, apartment, tenement la casa house, home, household, place, homestead, hostel la habitaciĆ³n room, habitation, accommodation, living room, lodgings, inhabitation This is like spanish 101 stuff. If you want to hire me to find a place for you I can do this. I'm sort of busy with school though.
