I have 2 options for our vacation I've decided on TTR cancun resort and can either during the week of July 14-20 or September 15-21. We'll probably be doing a 5 or 6 night stay. I was wondering what dates you all think would yield a better time and also what days should we visit for the best nightly entertainment (I.e. Friday - Thursday or Tuesday - Sunday)

    Thanks for the help!

Also it'll be our first time at a Temptation (or similar) property.

We did Aug last year and loved it! Sept you have to worry about storms so I wouls say July would be better. We did Thurs to Monday and we had a blast!

Sept 1-5 for us was nothing but sunshine = one hell of a great time. trips are cheaper this time of the year because it is hurricane season, its a roll of the dice. i would recomend travel insurance just.

The September crowd is awesome, and the weather (unless there is a hurricane) on Sept 15-21 will be great. We have been to TTR every month of the year except for June, and July was the month we enjoyed less. The heat was brutal when we were there in July. The pool was not enjoyable after noon.

I was there Sept 7-15 this past year, and it was so hot you had to stay in the water, or in the shade, after 10 a.m. I can't even imagine how hot it would be in July! But then again, I live in a pretty cool climate so I am a heat wuss...if you are from a place that gets really hot in the summer, you might not be troubled by the heat in July in Cancun.

You def want to be at the resort on a Thursday, as that is lingerie Night, the best theme night of the week, so Tues-Sun would be the better choice of the 2 options. Sundays and Mondays tend to be a bit quieter at the resort.

I agree with Karen - if at all possible, any trip of less than 7 nights to TTR should be planned around being there for lingerie Night. After that I always love the pool party night (Saturday), and yeah, Sun-Mon are a little less energetic than other days/nights (but still awesome).

Haven't been in July, but it was definitely plenty hot for us in September. And there is that tropical storm issue. You could have one in July too, but it's more likely in September. It's a long shot that you'll have anything other than perfect weather, but there is that chance.

Thanks for all the great replies! I've been to riviera maya in July before and it was absurdly hot so I was leaning towards December. I'll definitely make sure we're there for lingerie night as long as I don't have to wear a thing ;)

And mitchandahalf I see you're from BC; I was just in Vancouver and whistler! My favorite place on earth!!

We've only ever been to Mexico in the summer and find it very humid, but not overwhelming. Like Karen, we're from the cool Vancouver climate and not accustomed to the heat. If we had a choice between July or September, I'd go with July - the heat will be around the same, but it's a bit before hurricane season.

Our last trip was during Hurricane Ernesto (early August 2012). We have to admit that the Saturday night pool party with heavy rain & thunder was just epic. People dancing in the rain, clothing (if any) soaked and see through... words can't do it justice. :)

@YKSP - Agreed! Whistler, favorite place on earth! I'll be there next weekend for a stag ... !!
