Okay, I am entering in a 'grill master' contest that the newspaper is sponsoring here. The winner will get a new gas grill from Sears, a gift certificate to the local meat market here, and a gift certificate to somewhere else...can't remember. lol but anyway, I make these awesome shrimp things. No name though. this is how I make them: the freshest uncooked jumbo shrimp you can buy jalepenos mexican cheese (goat milk cheese sold in a wheel at the stores around here) bacon skewer sticks or toothpicks melted butter for basting *You take the shrimp, peel it, cut of the tail. Slice it open like a book (sometimes it cuts all the way through, thats okay) *you slice jalepeno's lengthwise, remove most or all seeds *you slice cheese in same width as jalepeno slice approximately *cut bacon slices in half **make a 'sandwich' with the jalepeno and cheese inside, close shrimp. **wrap bacon slice around shrimp and secure with toothpick or stack a few on a skewer smoke them on grill, or place on grill (not direct flame) for no longer than 6 minutes. as soon as the shrimp turns pink and the cheese starts to melt, remove immediately....serve hot. So...what are some good ideas for a recipe title for this??? The more creative the better!
great ideas so far! I have to turn in the recipe and the $5 entry fee by Friday this week. Then next Friday, the 20th, I have to take samples for the judges between 8am-11am. I am thinking closer to 11am....saving the best for last.
