Day 10 ~ The End Last night I went to the reception desk, turned in our beach towels, and settled our account. We were being picked up at 7 a.m., so I wanted to take care of the bill. I forgot to tell you my "I almost got a tattoo in Playa" story! I wanted to get a tattoo, something small and tasteful on my ankle. I went to a tattoo parlor off of 5th Avenue. I met the tattoo artist, and I told him I wanted a small tattoo of a turtle. He looked at me, and said, "is that an animal?" The look on Norb's face was priceless, I thought he may have a stroke! I said to the man, "la tortuga". Oh, he said. Well, after looking through many books, he didn't think he could give me a "small" turtle, and I decided against a "large" turtle ... I'm classy, ya know! Norb was very relieved, as he wasn't very enthused about me getting a tattoo in Mexico! ~ Saturday ~ Adios, Playa Palms ... We got up about 6, got ready for the day, and when I was done crying :cry: I finished packing up. Our USA Transport was waiting for us in front of the hotel, right on time, as always. We got to the airport, and no one was in line at the USA3000 counter, so we checked in quickly. We headed to security, no one made us take off our shoes, or open our carry on bags. Margaritaville for breakfast? You betcha! We ordered scrambled eggs, potatoes, toast and coffee. I stopped in the Margaritaville store to get a new travel coffee mug (a present for me!) Our flight boarded on time, we had a direct flight home. The plane was not crowded, so everyone had room to spread out and relax. The pilot flew over the Hotel Zone ... We landed in Pittsburgh, and it was 25 degrees ... ugh! We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Would we recommend THE ROYAL PDC? ... ABSOLUTELY! Would we recommend THE PLAYA PALMS? ... ABSOLUTELY! Thank you soooo much for reading my trip report, I loved re-living it! (But, you really shouldn't go to Playa, it's an awful place, and you wouldn't like it at all!) ........................................................................................
Am soooo sorry there are no more trip reports. I have SO enjoyed them. Have decided the real world kind of sucks, particularly with our current 15 degree weather. Again, I want to extend my many thanks for both your entertaining reports and fantastic pictures. Would love to meet you and Norb down in Mexico one of these days. In the meantime I hope you have a great new year!
Wonderful! Makes me sad I wont be back in cancun this year, instead I will be in rainy/cold London England. But, 2010 is looking promising for cancun for me!! Great trip report!!!
Same with Tulum. Absolutely awful there. Glad you guys had a great trip, and thanks for the report. Just wait till I disgust you with my trip to Puerto Rico this March.
OMG THE PICTURES OF CANCUN!!! I thought your trip report was finished, and then I saw this suprise.. Now i'm overly excited for Cancun, and not even sure i'm getting to go yet lol.. Hope you don't mind, I saved the pics for myself... If you don't mind, let me know, and i'll use them for the countdown for everyone.. Will be a great suprise for the last days of the countdown..
