Well where to start, its the last night of my trip and im in the vip lounge writing this review. As you can tell, im bored out of my mind, not to mention disgusted by the hotel, the staff and the front desk. Everything becomes a routine after 4 days...wake up, pool, drink, eat, party, sleep...etc etc I booked this trip thinking I was going to get some all inclusive service, and Yes I paid the extra 400 bux to have the all inclusive service. When you show up, be ready to wait up to 2 hours for your room to be ready. Apparently they like waiting until the last minute to get your rooms ready. More than likely you will be waiting in the lobby with plenty of other disgruntled guests, what a way to start your vacation. I get into the room with a buddy of mine, and there is only one bed, well this creates another issue, so back to the front desk to get it all straightened out. In the end they just sent a small folding bed. I was so frustrated that I went along with it. We met with Carlos, who is the American express travel rep. He will book your day trips, or night out party hopping events. While he has some good deals lined up, be careful he will try sending you to east bumble Fk for golf or a night club, without mentioning you can go to the one on the resort for FREE. After the second day we picked up on his shadiness, so we avoided him. While walking around the hotel lobby, and all the phases I couldnt help but feel like I was back in high school. Now granted I wanted a bit of a night life, but some 18yr olds cannot hold their alcohol. I talked to so many people, mostly 25-50 yr olds who were fed up with the childish and insane behavior, I can only imagine what spring break brings. For families with kids, be ready to babysit your kids the whole trip´, there is no day care center, no game room and no real kiddie pool. there is a shallow area in the pool, but a toddler can still venture out to the 4 foot end. The food overall was good, I guess. we ate about 5-6 meals a day, usually restaurant hopping in the daytime and then going out around 930 or so at night. They try to put a limit on what you can order, but you will figure out ways around it. Remember just because you stay at the Pyramid of the grand oasis, and you have a fancy black band, you still will be treated like crap. This hotel was hilarious in some aspects, all activities cease at 4pm. Golf, tennis...well thats about it. The pool shuts down at around 8, but youll see péople in there at 9 or so, however the overly anal security guards will ruin your fun as soon as you go in afterhours. One thing I noticed is they take their power WAY to seriously, Ive been a police officer for 7 years and I havent even come across people that power hungry back in the US. Oh and there is NO hot tub..go figure... The nightlife is fun, when your not being bombarded with taxis drivers offering you rides, prostitutes and drugs its actually a nice place to be. The Polizia look extremely intimidating, and they usually run in packs of 5 or 6. I saw them in action, lets just say Im happy we have a united states constituton. With all the alchol we drank, we would have been dead back in the states, somehow the alcohol is watered down, you can be drinking all night and you will sometimes barely feel the effect. Stick to the cheap mexican beer, at least you will get a buzz after a few. Tipping does help, but sometimes they start expecting it after a few bux, I had one waiter at Daddyrock start asking me for tips after he was handed a $20 us bill at tjhe begining of the night, I looked at him laughed, and told him to scratch. they get very very greedy and you occasionally have to send them down to earth. Overall I will NEVER book at the grand oasis again, room service and house keeping are horrible. Rarely get you what you need, and house keeping only works 6 houras a day, not tomention you have to call up a good 2 to 3 times just to get your fridge restocked with water ,soda and beer,. Well I wish I could continue this review, I have so much more stuff to write, but the long line of people waiting to get on the 3 computers that work on the whole hotel are waiting to get on. If you have any questions, gladly PM me and ill answer. Have a safe trip.
Sorry to hear that you had a bad time there - try the Royal Sands or any of the Tri-Royals next time - you'll be writing a very different report afterwards!
