I know several people who used the ATM at TTR and their accounts got hacked when they got home.

I believe that the results are better at the ATM at the C-store on the edge of the property. I believe it gives American $$.

I have used the ATM at the resort, and I have also used the one right across the street. I haven't had an issue, but i didn't know any better my first trip. But based on what I have read, and I believe Steve even gave the advice, it is better to use the ATM at the bank down the street on the same side as the resort. (I don't know if it is left or right, but my understanding it that it is close)

We just got back and used the ATM at the resort....there were no issues and it gave american dollars...however, expect to pay almost 22 bucks for every hundred you take out...better to bring enough cash with you.....

You are much safer and better off to just take cash. Unless its a decent amount the exchange from usd to pesos is minimal. If you want pesos you can get them from your bank, they charge a smaller fee than most exchanges and it takes 3 days to get it for you.
