Well, I figure since Im fed up with the NFL, might as well get some baseball chat going. Whose buying and selling during these meetings, deals that have already happend, are going to happen, and for the betterment of the team, what SHOULD happen.

The Johan Santana trade talks have obviously stirred up alot of interest from many teams, namely the Red Sawx and the Yankees. The Sox have offered two separate deals, one including Jon Lester, and one including Jacoby Ellsbury, two very promising up and coming players. The Twins, however told the sox they were interested in BOTH players, Coco Crisp, and prospect Jed Lowrie. The sox responded by telling them they can have one but not the other, a smart move if you're playing for the future. The Yankees seem to be falling out of the race a little bit after telling the Twins that Ian Kennedy was not for sale, but they would part ways with future stud Phil Hughes. Also, the Yanks gave a monday evening deadline, which obviously passed, but as we all know, its the Yankees and they can buy and sell whenever they please. The Twins, owning one of the best pitchers in the majors, could wait until the end of the meetings or later to trade Santana to see if a more promising, although unlikely deal arises.

Now then, aside from that, the story that clearly stole the spotlight for once from the Yanks and Sawx was the Florida Marlins dealing stars Miguel Cabrera, and Dontrelle Willis to Detroit for a package of 6 players which includes Andrew Miller and Mike Rabelo among others. This is a great move for the Tigers who just bolstered there already dominating lineup with the bat of Cabrera, and their pitching staff with Willis, who, although had an off season, is still one of the better pitchers in the league. The Marlins, for those of you who are fans, are no strangers to fireselling their team, as weve seen in the past, so this move doesnt come as too much of a surprise. As a Braves fan, Im happy to see those two get out of my division, put less pressure on us, at the top, if we make it back up there this season.

Other things I'm hearing is Andruw Jones possibly joining recently acquired Jose Guillen in Kansas City, Yanks setting their sights on Dan Haren, and the Mets still looking to make a deal.......boy i love this time of the year......post your updates, rumors or anything if you've got em

Yanks are out of the Santana race.

I am glad to see that. We are sticking with our young talent instead of going out and giving them up for some big name.

besides, these new kids we have just might be all we need. Let the RedSox go out do what the Yankees have been ridiculed for the last few years......buying the championship.

besides that......I think by far the team that is going to make out the best this off season is the Tigers. Willis and Cabrera are good pick-ups.

Andruw Jones goes to the Dodgers. Also the Marlins got a lot of good young talent in return. Willis has a bad arm, future is cloudy IMO

being a braves fan, im sad to see andruw go.....but also kind of relieved at the same time. He either strikes out or hits the ball 500 feet lol but its gonna be weird to see him playing elsewhere come this spring
