Mixing Temp/ DRM. TTR April 17-19, DRM April 19-24

So we decided to mix it up this year! Originally we were booked to go to TTR from April 17th through the 24th. We decided to split our vacation and party with friends April 17th, 18th and the morning of the 19th at TTR- then we transfer to Desire RM for the rest of our stay through the 24th.

We have a lot of friends that we met in April '13 and July '14 that are going to be at TTR, so we couldn't pass up the opportunity to reconnect with some of them. It's actually kinda sucks that we don't get to hang out with our friends for longer, not to mention the fact that we had to request a reimbursement on our April 20th Boobs Cruise deposit. We just don't want to have to go back and forth, back and forth.

We love the absolute party at TTR, and the people and staff are what make each stay an epic vacation to remember, but for us, there is just something lacking.

Let me start this by saying I AM NOT trying to rag on TTR. We LOVE so much about it. Hence why we're going back in 17 days.

The first time we went to TTR it was for 7 days in April of '13. We were like most newbies- a little intimidated and unsure about what we had gotten ourselves into. That faded fast and we knew in short order that we fit in with the wild and loud crowd. We loved the fact that it is the "adult version of spring break". We loved the Boobs Cruise. And the wife quickly felt comfortable with the topless optional atmosphere. It wasn't even 10 minutes into our second day and she took the top off and never put it back on. She's like most of the ladies on CCC- Just buying the swim suit because of the cute bottoms, the tops stay in the suit case.

Our second trip was in July of '14. We booked TTR for 10 days- and this is when some of the minor negatives started to become a bigger deal. Just like our first trip, we made many new friends that we still keep in contact with. We did 2 Boob Cruises, and both were a riot. One of the problems was that we both started to get a little tired of the same ol' same at the sexy pool and the theme nights/ Patty O's. Screaming "AMERICA! CANADA! UK!", same games, sexy shows, over and over. Not that we hated them, and sure they're a lot of fun when you participate, but it just started to get a little old. The food is fine to counter-act the extreme alcohol consumption, but it's not that special. (Burgers at 2:00 am are awesome too!)

The rooms and drinks also started to get to us. Typically, when we vacation we like to have nicer amenities. I admit we're kind of booze snobs. We like our top shelf liquor and good beer selection. Drinks of choice when at home are Grey Goose, Stranahan's, Jameson or JD. We have a hard time sippin' on somethin' when we know we're going to have hell to pay in the morning. Half way through the vacation we really didn't want to be down at the sexy pool anymore-and the room started to feel like a dungeon. It's like the white concrete walls started to close in on us ( not to mention we were right off of Patty O's and the noise was hard to deal with at night). This is where someone would normally go down to the beach. Well, we all know the beach at TTR isn't all that great. Tried it, lounged for a while, but started to feel a little desperate to get back home.

Magically, we were hangin' out in our room and a brochure for free transfer and 3 nights at Desire RM was slipped under our door. We were a little hesitant about the clothing optional- but seeing how fast we acclimated to topless optional our first year, we decided to take them up on their offer.

Desire RM was BADASS. We had a lot of friends that had highly recommended it. And we had a feeling it would be more to our taste. Nicer rooms that were quiet and secluded, better AC, better TVs and channel selection when we are just hanging out in the room or when Tracy is primping. The beach was a Godsend. Much bigger, softer sand, the palapas by the water. The entertainment staff was really great. Whenever we were down at the pool they did such a great job at mixing things up and getting people to participate. The grounds were immaculate! Everything was very well maintained and the layout has a great tropical feel. The drinks were just what the doctor ordered when at the pool, at the beach (CiCi's bloody Mary was the best I've ever had), at dinner, or in the AIR CONDITIONED disco.

The food was sooo much better. You had a great selection of high quality entrees at the buffet, but you could also order off the lunch menu. Pretty much all three days we ended up sitting at a table for lunch and drinking a bottle of champagne (glasses always kept half full by the great staff) while enjoying a great entree and watching the games/ people at the pool. The sushi restaurant and steak house were amazing. On par with good sushi and steak houses in the states.

We felt pampered and rejuvenated by the time our three days were up. Just like TTR, we met many cool people and made some friends we still talk to. It's definitely different from TTR in many aspects, but we made some unforgettable memories because we took the chance to transfer. SO, if you get the chance, DO IT . You wont regret it.

So, all in all we look forward to making more memories at both places once again in only 17 days from today. We're disappointed to shorten our stay with our friends at TTR, and that we pulled out of the April 20th Boobs Cruise- but we know we're gonna have a helluva good time no matter what. We bring the party with us when it's time to have some fun, but we know how to relax and enjoy the quieter side of life that rekindles the fire in our marriage. We look forward to seeing you all.

 

Have a blast! No need to apologize for needing a break from the TTR routine. Someday I'll need to find a girlfriend/wife of my own to see what the fuss over at the Desire resorts is all about!

 

I always get a kick of how people compare a 500$@ night resort to a $200 @ night resort and use terms like ''the food is sooo much better''

 

Wish you two were staying at TTR but we don't blame you. We want to try DRM out sometime.
