Yeah but look at this from our standpoint. Most of us have been on here a long time and keep up with our friends though this site. Some friends we've met in person and some we know though online discussions. Over the years, CancunCare has developed a large, loyal following and when a "stranger" (albeit a pretty one) pops on the board to take advantage for personal gain...it's panhandling at best, pandering at worse. You're using us to get a free trip. No thanks, I'll pass. Marsh

Please be nice to her. It is not her fault that she is a newbie. It would be nice if she was on here earlier and I think she would have if she knew about it. My two cents is she has been there and that makes her part of the group and deserves to ask for help. Remember we are all good people to the inocent. Just my thoughts. Don
Tanya, I would hate to have you miss out on the trip of a lifetime (I mean, every trip to TTR is memorable that's why we have so many repeaters) because the CancunCare folks have all of a sudden gotten on a high horse. Shame on them. I say, you were the first to ask, so you get the votes.
Well..... I do think the points raised above are valid. Do we all really want to see two or three new people every month for the next few years pop up on here asking for votes, not contributing anything else and then disappearing? I think we all know too that it's just a huge marketing ploy by the resort to capture emails and the votes are often rigged. That said, obviously some people like Tanya J might not find out about this site until after their trip and if they want to join the community and take part in it I certainly dont want to exclude them. I think with the two recent girls looking for votes a little trip report, a couple of nice pics and posting in a few other threads to give information back to people who are about to experience TTR for the first time would have gone a long way in helping bring in some votes. For sure if you contribute to the site in a positive way then you'll have hundreds of people backing you, which has happened many times in the past. It's all about interaction and winning the crowd over. You obviously know how to do it or you wouldnt have won the competition
Wait a second while I get off my high horse and reply. Troy & Janice, Had I known that y'all knew her personally, I wouldn't have been so harsh. For that I apologize. I do still stand by my opinion that joining CancunCare just to get votes should not be acceptable. The facts as I saw it at the time, was that she had only been a member for 10 days and all 6 of her postings were asking for votes or related to that thread. Had she contributed in other discussions, I would have felt different. Don, I'm not a mean person. I didn't want to come across that way. But all of the contestants have been there and Steve mentioned on the previous thread about a contestant joining CC just to get votes, was the same as spam. I've got to agree. Someone joining CancunCare just to get votes is no different than someone joining just to drive traffic to their website. Boy & Girl, I'm not ashamed. I enjoyed reading your trip report about your contest. Y'all are real members of CancunCare and I would vote for you anytime. But there will be 12 of these contests a year. It should not be whoever asks first gets our collective votes. That would open Pandora's Box and CancunCare would be inundated with requests from strangers for online voting for this and other contests. I wouldn't want to see CancunCare commercialized like that.
