Some of you might remember my earlier post asking about taking little 1.5oz nips or mickeys (we call them) on the plane. So I checked the security website TSA and it did say as long as you were within your allowable liquids that fit within your extra large sandwich size ziploc bag no problem. It seemed to good to be true to me but I thought what the hell? It's $6.50 per drink on the plane so whats the worst that can happen...they confiscate it. So we are getting ready to go through the check point at the Halifax airport and I'm a little nervous. I say to Reg "Just put the bag under your coat in the tray" . First security guard says "well at least you took the right liquids with you!" second security guard says "you could have fit more in that bag!" and the third security guard says "aren't you going to an all inclusive?" so I say "yah, but we gotta get there first!" We bought some juice after security and premixed some and got the free juice on the plane and mixed our own no problem. I do think that this might be some of the best advice ever given on this forum! So friends, get your vacation started early and no need to hide your booze in travel containers! :flagcanada::lotsofmichaelfs:
Awesome! We will definitely be doing this! We have a mimosa/screwdriver tradition before leaving for the airport.....at 5am! Love it. Stay drunk the whole vacation and no hangovers. Lol. Jackie
We actually saw the post and did that for a friends birthday trip to Cancun earlier this month. Not to TTR We had no issues taking several small 3 oz travel bottles we bought at Target. We took 2 vodkas, 2 rums and 2 bourbons, and we zipped right through security. Some made a drinks in the airport and them some mixed them on the plane, out of sight of the flight attendants of course. Kudos to who thought of this. Brilliant! Cheers! Tom & Lorie
we always do this when we are flying for vacation. It is also good if the plane gets delayed, so you can party in the airport.
Always used to have baileys and coffee, then most planes stopped selling it. Now its on again. Thank you.
We did that last year on our way in to Cancun. We brought 2nips each and had some free drinks on he plane!! I plan on bringing more this year. :ernaehrung005:
This is such a great idea! One I definitely plan to do. I have never flown before, and get sick even seeing a plane in the sky or one landing so I know I am going to need help! Since we have spent so much on this vacation and it is to a place like TTR, I just keep telling myself how worth it it will be once we get there. Just hope I don't decide to chicken out on our layover. I don't want to be stuck in Dallas! LoL I'm sure my bag of drinks will be gone as soon as possible. Should be interesting at 5 a.m.
