We were looking to book Dec 1st through 6th. Called reservations today (Oct 20th) because nothing is available until Dec 9th on the Grand side. They told me that they delayed opening till the 26th of October and that they blocked all reservations until Dec 9th until they know for sure that they re-open. My guess is that they are tired moving people’s reservations around due to delayed openings so they prevented any future bookings until they know for sure.
Couple that drive with the extra 1.5 hours in the airplane and it kind of make me wonder if its worth it. I guess when the trip reports start coming in I'll make that decision.
After spending 45 minutes to get to Breathless or Excellence El Carmen, I won't have a problem riding for another 45 knowing the difference in the vacation experience. As convenient as Cancun, definitely not. But we're always up for something new. Cheers!
