I folded and trimmed my CURP to the size of a credit card and today took it to Papelria Cancun. They laminated it, for $9.50, with a stiff, as opposed to flimsy finished product; maybe much like our new FM3's will come out.

Just a suggestion for others to protect this credential. It is approx 1/4" x 3/8" larger than a credit card and the corners are rounded/trimmed.

It took about 3 minutes once I talked to a clerk. Their machine is by the Cajas in the area where they sell the maps. Speaking of which, the killer maps that I love have sold out. Have they gotten more so they can sell more? Hell no! But you can get all the street maps for Puebla that you can carry. I guess there is a huge market here for those. I really didn't see a Cancun product that I would buy, after having a Punto Mapa.

I saw what look to be decent Cancun street maps at Extra on the corner of Chichen and Kinik the other day. Couldn't open the plastic packaging, so I'm not sure.

You obviously haven't heard about the latest Google Maps, they have one you can get embedded in your brain.

To all of the above posters.

I have seen them all. Believe me when I saw that Punto Mapa is the best I have a couple that I got from their office on Lopez Portillo, which is not really simple to find.

As to Google, my sister drove all over Cancun, using Google, but from her home in Vero Beach. She even asked about the plants on my balcony that you can see.

Also as to Google, I am assuming, RG, that you do NOT mean that they have a paper product. If they do, then I am in fact. "obviously" behind the curve.

What I love about Punto Mapa is that there is a separate page for each SM. It is spiral bound in an attractive cover. There is a pull out map of all of Cancun, including the HZ, so you can see where a SM is in general if you are not familiar with it. It fits nicely in a 1 qt ziplock bag and although it will not zip, it will protect it well. Mine fits nicely in my center console or my glove compartment.

If anyone wants to see a certain SM, I am happy to email it to you if you send me a PM.

They are the hardest place to find, but their correct address does not appear in the map book. I have now followed them to the 3rd place where they were last time I checked. They are in SM 94. If you are like at Home Depot and go to Lopez Portillo you make a left. Soon it will be on your right. The first SM is 93 which is pretty much odd numbered streets, starting with Calle 91 and ending at 103. 103 is the beginning of SM 94. In the first block after Calle 103 you will see a paint store, Pinturas Martinez. Park in front of it. There are stairs next to P Martinez and you go up, I think one level and there you are. It may say Punto Mapa or Punto de Venta or it may say nothing on the door. But if you can find Martinez you can figure it out. $85 and ask for the plastic bag. It won't last forever but it is better than not having it.

Good luck. PM me if you need help on the location. I could even email you SM 94.

And you grocery shop at Plaza Las Americas? Aren't there at least 3 or 4 Chedrauis closer to home?
