Am certain it's perfectly fine. I wish there was more such information from the Yucatan interior.

I agree with Michael, knowing more about what there is to do and see, nearby Cancun, is always a good thing, and enhances the quality of life we can enjoy here. If we'd known about the running event in Merida sooner, and that it included races of distances less than marathon and half-marathon, we might have gone over for the weekend, and participated in the 5K.

If you want to volunteer to work the marathon, there will be a meeting tomorrow at noon with
    LEF SERGIO ALFEREZ, EL SABADO 09 DE ENERO, EN EL PALACIO MUNICIPAL, A LAS 12:00 HRS. (C. 62 X 63 Y 61 ).

Also, they will have a 2K, a 5K and a 10K. I think I'm going to run the 10K and then work a first aid station for the marathon.

Oh, I forgot, you can sign up for the races an hour before they leave (6am for marathon, 7am for 10K, rest is at the website) and the cost is $100 for the marathon and $10 for the 10K!!! (yes, I always quote in pesos)

    (edit again)
And we've had a 2010 running schedule at in the roo for a while, but runmx.com is great for Mexican races. http://intheroo.com/playa-del-carme...o-half-marathon-marathon-calendar-2010-a.html

OMG, what an AMAZING race - especially for the $10 fee! For that amount of money (what? like 0.80USD?) I totally expected no support, no aid stations, I wasn't sure if the course would even be marked, etc.

Instead...we had a wonderfully supported race! Hell’s Half Acre » Merida marathon and 10K report
