My new husband and I will be enjoying our honeymoon at Temptations at the end of this month. We'll arrive on Tuesday the 25th and are staying through June 1st. This will be our first time at Temptations... I've seen lots of tips, but I have a few more questions. How bad are the bugs? Should we be majorly concerned with bug spray? I've read there is a liquor store across the street... is there a drug store anywhere close? Do they use bottled water for the ice? Do they have plenty of bottled water? If not, how easy is it to get to gatorade from the resort? I want to enjoy my weekend, but I also want to be sure to stay hydrated whilst I do it!!! Any fun things going on this week? Thanks in advance!!!
I can answer a few of them for you. 1. How bad are the bugs? Should we be majorly concerned with bug spray? This one I'm not sure of as we've only been down in Oct and there were no bugs. 2. I've read there is a liquor store across the street... is there a drug store anywhere close? The closest one that I know of is at Walmart. Anyone know of anything closer? 3. Do they use bottled water for the ice? & 4. Do they have plenty of bottled water? If not, how easy is it to get to gatorade from the resort? Every time we've been to Temptations we've had 0 trouble drinking the water and ice cubes. I don't know for sure but I've been told that temptations filters its own water. The tap water has an odd taste but I only brush my teeth with that stuff *L*. Have fun
There is a small pharmacy across the street. There are bigger drugstores in the major shopping/club area of the hotel zone. The shopping/club area is a very cheap and fast (5min bus ride) from the hotel.
We can help with a few of your questions. This will be our 2nd straight year to TTR, but 5th year to Cancun this time of year. The bugs are not bad during the day, but at night it's a differant story. There are biting bugs called Noseums (No See EM, which is exactly what it sounds like...you can't see them very well) Similar to a mosquito bite, but they leave a lot of women looking like they got the measles or mumps very bad. They are very attracted to womens perfume, and that's mainly why women seem to get the worst of it. No bug spray or OFF works too well for them. The only thing we found that keeps them away was passed on to us by other guests. Avon's Skin So Soft. The ladies all want to smell nice for everyone when they are all dressed up in the evening, but take it easy on the perfume, and put on the Skin So Soft. At least while you are outdoors. Then when you get inside or to the club you can put more perfume on. We never go to Cancun without it now. No problems with the ice at all. Bottled water is in your rooms, TTR does have filtration for it's water and ice, and they have purified water in like the 5 gallon bottles at the bars, and that's what they serve with. We've never had a problem with that, but wouldn't recommend drinking out of your taps, except to brush and rinse. There is a small pharmacy across the street of resort, and they have pretty much everything you need if you should have any problems or become sick or such. Plus there is a gift shop at resort that has differant drinks, (I think Gatorade, PowerAide, Vitamin Water etc) as well as some pharmacy items. Hope that helps, and you will have a great honeymoon and be wanting to come back every year for your anniversary...it's what happened to us 6 years ago.
MsDani..Welcome to the board!! Hope you have fun..Your first drink is on me when you both get there...You can find me at the SEXY pool!!!:icon_lol::icon_lol::daveandmo::aktion069:
Thanks everyone! You've been super helpful. We can't wait to get there. Will all of you be there around the same time? Is there a sexy school girl night every week? I just want to be prepared Dani
There used to be a store across the street that sold liquor but it was gone in October when we were there. On the bug question they can be horrible at night. Last May were there for Memorial day week and eating at Margaritas which is an open air restaurant and we got hit with a swarm that was so bad the were bring out bug spray for us and standing at are table killing bugs for us but it got so bad we had to get up and leave dinner. We will be there for a few days while you are at the end of the month.
I don't think there are any theme nights planned...somebody should start a Memorial Day weekend thread and plan some things out!! (Not it!)
