Well ladies and gents...... Karen and I are officially engaged. I added a nightcap to our third Christmas eve together by asking the most wonderful woman in the world on a date for the rest of our lives. A little background........ We met two years ago over the internet (scary..I know) and hit it off right away. I had just gotten out of a nightmare relationship and all I was looking for was someone nice to take out to dinner and have some fun with. Karen completely caught me off guard and I swear that I fell in love with her before I even saw her. Hell, I told her I loved her after three weeks of knowing her and I meant it from the bottom of my heart. I finally found someone that saw me for who I really am instead of who I used to be or who people see me as. She saw the guy who cries in an art gallery because some art hits the bottom of his being. She saw the guy that gives up his seat on a bus for ladies that are standing. She saw the guy that will fight to the death for his family, and the family that loves her as much as I do. Even after I told her about my days as a blue haired, chemically enhanced, locked up, beat down, street fighting man....she still loves me because she knows who I am is the culmination of my whole life journey. Now a little over two years, a bunch of trips and a ton of good memories later its official. On Christmas Eve after her family left her house after dinner we started opening our presents for eachother. I knew what I was planning and I did a fantastic job of keeping my composure. Her last gift was a Journal filled with handmade Tibetan paper. I decorated the front with wooden beads from a bracelet I bought when we were in Puerto Rico. I cut out photos, ticket stubs, brochures and whatever else I could find of all the stuff we have done together over the last two years. Starting with a photo of the restaurant where we had our first date. She kept on turning the pages and my heart was racing. I wasnt sure how I would get the words out. She made it to the end of the book..... Turned the page........... And there was Robot Jay and Robot Karen with the ring on top. I had hollowed out part of the book to be able to fit the ring in there. All I could manage to get out was " you make me the happiest man in the world, and all I want is to be happy with you for the rest of my life". I asked her if she would marry me, she said YES!!! and the rest is history. Looks like one of our next trips could be a honeymoon. I might even be able to convince her that a marriage before God, Elvis and a few paid witnesses is the way to go. We shall see though.

I just asked her when she wants to go get the ring properly sized since its about a half size too big.........she said she doesnt want to take it off yet
