I REALLY want to check out The City when we are down and the resort does their night, so I'll be going regardless, but was just wondering how many people are thinking they will be doing any of the club excursions at night? Just curious Nice to know if I can expect to be me and the hubby and a trillion strangers (not a problem) or if we'll have some new friends, too. Especially since I dance by myself - as in, no touchy-touchy, so would be nice for Rome to have others to mingle with
The City is an amazing club. Coco bongos is a must also just for the show. I usually hit Daddy O and Mandela also.
the entertainment staff usually goes with a bunch of guests each night different club. or something like that. We Did not go last year, first time in Mexico Did not feel comfortable making our own way back to resort at 2am while drunk as hell. Wished they offered transportation back to resort. Would feel safer. Not Sure yet if we will go this year.
I don't drink heavily at all when I go dancing because I need to be able to have control of my limbs and not fall on my ass lol So, I'm always in charge of transportation and I'm sure this night will be no different.
BTW - we respond to each other's posts while sitting 3 feet away from each other on the couch. Welcome to the world of Vita and Rome! lol
We've been to the City - its the Friday night sponsored Club of the night. Mostly singles from the resort go, few couples. TTR gets a preferred seating area above the dance floor - think of the City like a NBA or big college Basketball Arena, dancefloor is the court, and the stadium seating on levels are the club goers. Much more seats above the dance floor than those on the floor surrounding the dance area. Club holds 7,000 + people. Its 75% guys under the age of 25. If you think you can handle yourself, its mob mentality. You will be groped, rubbed, and touched if you venture into the dance pit. It's so loud, no can hear you. There is no such thing as personal space. Show starts around 11:30pm or midnight, goes for about an hour. Then its a DJ and pounding music that is amazingly clear & loud. The millions they spent on the sound/light/fx equipment really shows. When they open the dance area - guys in board shorts & tank tops flock, you will see a few ladies go up but its mostly guys. The ladies generally dance in their assigned seating area rather than deal with the madness. We had a great time - Have you tried using the search feature or posting these questions/comments in the roll call thread?
$1 or 10-pesos will get you on a bus back to the resort on the bus. At 3-4am, the majority of people on the bus are tourists heading back to their hotels. Yell - Alto - when you come up to the resort.
