Can anyone tell us where we could find a drink that they were serving in the jewelry shops on Isla Mujeres called Mayan Tequila? The shop owner said it was tequila but the taste was more on the lines of an almond, vanilla flavor and the color was almost like Irish Bailey's Cream. It was so smooth that you could sip it on the rocks but it had a kick after just a couple of shots of it. We can't seem to find it anywhere or a recipe to mix it up.
OMG...It is our favorite! It is called Crema De Almendrado, Hecho En Mexico. Two guys in hats on a yellow label, I have never seen it anywhere but there! We were too drunk to get it the last few trips...So get in on the way In. I think It is mixed with Vanilla,,,so sweet & smooth!
It sounds like it being smooth and sweet but the drink we had was more like a cream instead of clear or tan color. We will try this one thou on the way in one month from now!! Thanks!!!
In may toured the Tequila factory in Cozemel. They had so many different flavors of Tequila, and free samples. I ended up buying 4 flavored tequilas that you drink straight. One was a vanilla so goooood! They only sold it at the factory where they made it. Recommed try a Tequila factory and there was last year a Tequila shop on the main drag that had lots of different Tequila's.
try this... Orendain we asked at the shop that gave us the shot and they went and got 2 bottles for us, but i found it online. and yes! its heavenly!!!!!! good luck.:lotsofmichaelfs:
Quita Penas - Crema de Tequila Diamondheaded (Rob and T) introduced us to that in Cabo and it is very good. In fact I have an unopened bottle at home I'm saving for a special occasion.
