WOW! What a trip!.....We had a blast. The resort was sold out and it was a non stop party. We met so many great people on this trip. It was our 2nd trip to Temptation but our first time there during a "Desire Week". We have been to Desire Cancun on 4 occasions and decided to try Cabo....we are glad we did. We arrived May 1st (2 days before the Desire week started) There is no comparison between regular Temptation and the Desire week. Once noon on May 3rd arrived, the resort totally changed. The service got much better (it was good already) the food choices were much improved, they brought out top shelf alcohol. They added extras to the room like extra bottles o water, more beer and sodas. They did away with the towel cards which are annoying. There was live music daily by the pool (some we could do without) There were people constantly asking how everything was...could they do anything for us. They totally redecorated the disco - adding seating, put in a light changing dance floor, and opened up the play room. The one negative I will bring up is that due to the large crowd, there was not enough beds or loungers by the pool for everyone. We had to get to the pool by 9 to get one...no worries though we met many friends we shared with. The pool and jacuzzi were very clean and the temperatures were perfect. The activities were well planned and fun. The evening entertainment was well done, however, some of the themes were very lame....MIME NIGHT??? Are you F-ing kidding me? We saw maybe 10 people dress for that one.....same for King and queen night. Those 2 need to be changed. The outfits for fetish night and lingerie night were HOT! There were some were sexy outfits and many couples dressed for those nights. The lingerie fashion show was great. Saturday night they had a beach party with excellent food and entertainment. They ended it with a fantastic fireworks display. They had a jacuzzi party that night but it was too crowded for us. There was one problem that many people we spoke to had. There was a "host couple" for the resort. Why there were chosen is beyond me? They were not social, they did not walk around to greet people, and our biggest problem was - They were fully clothed! They sat on a beach bed in long pants, long sleeves and big, full brimmed hats playing chess! Meanwhile everyone else was nude (90% of the people) or at least in bathing suits. We felt like they were voyoures. If you are afraid of the sun, what the hell are you doing at a resort in Mexico? At night, it was the same thing except they would dress up and it seemed like they tried to make things "all about them" For instance, they stated that one night was going to be "glow in the dark" night at the disco. No one knew this...they were the only ones in glow in the dark. They they had people clear the dance floor as they did a "special" dance....special it was not. In our opinion, a host couple should be trying to "others" involved and not make it all about them. We overheard many people saying the same thing. My husband tried to talk to them one day to ask how they got to be the host couple out of curiosity and he was basically ignored. Oh Well. Even though this was a Desire week, we felt the sexual activity that took place was much milder than Desire Cancun. We are not swingers but some of our group were. We were approached a couple of times by other couples "wanting to play" but we declined and there was no pressure. They continued to have "normal" conversations with us as we had drinks. We did like the sexual atmosphere at night on the beds by the jacuzzi. That was nice. We spoke with the owner of Original resorts (Temptations & Desire's parent company) and Silvinia (who used to be the guest services manager @ Desire. They said they are looking into having more Desire weeks, Maybe one week a month. They were very happy with the way this week turned out. They are going to closely watch the Sept. & Oct. Desire weeks to see how they do. I was told sales are strong for those weeks. We are trying to get back for the October week. In closing, We had an awesome vacation and meet many great people. I don't think we will ever go back to "Temptation" again unless it is a Desire week....they don't even compare. If you have been thinking about going to a Desire week, but are not into the "lifestyle" do not sweat it. There are many people like us who are not swingers, but enjoy the erotic atmosphere. Good trip report, thanks very much, I suspect you may get a response from the Host Couple as I believe they are members of this board, but then again maybe not as they appear to like being "mysterious". Anyway, sounds like you enjoyed the Vibe, we enjoyed ours a couple weeks ago, hopefully they can keep both Vibes going and not go to one format or the other as it appears to fill a good Void. KD1977, If Otober is anything like last week you will have a blast. They really did work hard to make it a special week. We were really surprised in the overnight change of the resort. Hopefully we can make it in October! B&B, We agree. I think that one Desire week a month would be great. it would allow them to keep both formats....especially for the single people. I don't think changing it back to full time Desire would survive. Lisa
We are sorry that you felt that way about us. The reason we don’t have our clothes off during the day is because I have had skin cancer and have to protect myself (that is why the nickname Whiteys originated) but still enjoy what the Desire format offers. After the sun lowered, we were up at the jacuzzi every evening without any clothing. In the 14 times we have been to Cabo and the 6 times to Desire Cancun, this is the 1st time we have ever heard anything negative about our necessity to wear sun protective clothing around the pool, we are sorry if we offended anyone. As for playing chess, my wife and I played 3 games all week. It is our way to relax for an hour during the afternoon. While some people enjoy an afternoon nap around the pool, we enjoyed a game of chess. In the evenings, we enjoy dressing up for theme nights and participated in every theme. We received many positive comments about our costumes and energy that we tried to bring. At no time did we try to make anything just about us, we just tried to have fun. The goal of the host couple was to be available for comments and suggestions during the week and we spoke to many people and received many comments that we will be summarizing for the resort. We felt the experience was positive; we tried hard to be available for everyone.
Well, here is our take: We had a great time again. Met awesome couples, old friends and new ones. Staff were very friendly and doing a great job. Food was good although we suggest to stay away from the sushi at Suki (we never tried it but a few friends had stomach problem afterwards different occasions). Disliked the disco music. Live music at the pool during the day was nice. Some of the theme nights were extremely lame and we didn't participate. A couple of nights jacuzzi was cold. We expected a social and icebreaker host couple but reading the above comment ["The goal of the host couple was to be available for comments and suggestions during the week"], apparently we misunderstood the term. There were two incidents that annoyed us: 1- The resort let in the marketers/sellers of diamonds or something like that. Very annoying. One night, we were laying on a bed with our friends and four of them approached us. They started the phony conversations that you knew would end in pushing you into buying things. 2- The last Desire night at jacuzzi, there was a guy (with a fully clothed custom) who took pictures while trying not to be noticed by anyone. A friends of us found out and informed the security. The security only asked him not to take any more pictures. Well, we didn't want to make a scene but the least that we expect from the resort is to check the pictures and erase those in which privacy of other guests is violated. G&B
Awesome week!!! Was about as perfect as anyone could ask for. Whiteys, thanks for being available; you guys did a great job. We were skeptical at first when we read of some of the 'new' events, including the mid-day pool bands, but they really enriched our trip. We'll pop out a trip report of our own when we get the chance... Was great to meet friends--new and old!!
Thanks for the reports from those that went to the May Desire Week. We are so happy that we have made our plans for both the Sep. and Oct Desire Weeks already. Of course there are always some people that seem different from others, but that is life. When we are there we are there for fun and games and to enjoy ourseves. Look forward to more reports as there were over 100 couples there.
thanks lisa that is good to know but the only problem i still have with Desire week is the fact that while i am on vacation trying to relax and enjoy my totally nude wife and sexy conversations with friends (but not doing anything as i am the last monagamous man i know) and having an amazing time at this awesome resort...........i still cant get over the fact that oscars are going to be everywhere too im sorry but for me that is not a vacation - thats a f'n nightmare just sayn - not sure i could ever do a Desire week but i will be back in april 2012 as long as oscar is not invited of course the best rob
