I have a meeting on the Big Island and am going to add a couple of days before and after the meeting. Would you stay on the Big Island for the non-meeting days, or stay at one of the other islands? I asked a couple of friends about this, and they both said that Maui was much nicer than the Big Island. Any suggestions on where to stay or what to do?
I can't offer any suggestions, because I've never been to Hawaii ... just wanted to say I'm jealous and have a GREAT TRIP!!!
Depends on what you want to do. I have only been to the big Island (2 weeks) but years ago. It was very quiet and not touristy at all. I would maybe do a quick search on the old Internet to look for the things that you want to do. We found some great snorkeling spots, did some diving. No wild night life that we could find. There was an active volcano, great hiking, and each side of the Island is very different from the other including north & south side. Hope this is a start.
I LOVED Kauai - it's sooo beautiful there. Helicoptor tours, zipling, snorkeling...just a great great place. Plus tons of excellent food. Maui was alittle too commercialized for me.
