We are thinking about going to Mardi Gras 2011. Going down the Thursday before and leaving the Sunday before Fat Tuesday. Will we regret not being there for Fat Tuesday or we ever know the difference? I assume there are parades on the weekend we are planning to be there, and the party will be huge.
rdubnpk The weekend you are describing is the busiest of the two weekends The party will, in fact, be in full force. Have not been for a couple of years, but may have to go in 2011. The web site mardigrasneworleans.com has dates and so forth for parades. I must admit that we spend most of out time on Bourbon Street, though. PK's bead hauls have been testament to that.....
Be careful when you go to mardi gras. Any flashing can get you arrested. Above the waist gets you 1 warning and below the waist gets you an automatic trip to jail.
I'm not kidding. I know it is widely publicized but if the cops catch you will go to jail. My family is from New Orleans and since katrina they have really cracked down on this with the city trying to clean up it's image. Flash at your own risk.
Well now then there's really no difference between St. Louis & New Orleans Mardi Gras if you take away all the flashing. Bart you may as well stay home & keep that money in Soulard or as I like to call it "Hoosier Fest 2011". :bash: :headbanger::aktion070::wuerg011: P.s. Bart, I'm sure the girls at "Johnny's" will happily accept your money & grant you a flash, especially that old cougar Wendy behind the bar, I've actually seen her flash her twat more times than I'd ever like to have seen it. :flash:
Believe it or not but we have never been to St Louis Mardi Gras. Not sure why not. Does not sound like I am missing much at Johnny's. St Louis weather in March can be a little rough for my taste when partying outside.
rdubnpk Web site thisismardigras.com shows flasher from every year since whenever, including 2010. Body paint shots were included. As for New Orleans cracking down, I am sure it would be all over the internet and the party would dwindle to a few church ladies looking for redemption and a po' boy.
rdubnpk I think I found what you are talking about. For the Super Bowl victory parade, the police were warning women, because the parade was to be G rated and broadcast on TV, not to flash for beads. The parade was a few days before Mardi Gras which may be where the confusion is coming in. I knew the other didn't sound right. Looks like we and two other couples are going the weekend before Fat Tuesday weekend. Ya'll come.
