Check-in- We arrived around 2:30pm and waited 5 minutes before getting to the front desk. They gave us wristbands and asked us to come back after 3pm and our room would be ready. We went for a stroll and a late lunch then went back and the room was ready. Check out was quick and painless. The Room- I had requested a garden view room with the balcony facing the quiet pool. They put us in 9307, which is in the right building but facing the sexy pool/bash area. The music woke us up a few times but it wasn’t terrible. Same as the occasional loud guests. The room is small (especially the bathroom) but has everything you need with a slight view of the ocean out past the sexy pool. Premier- One of the ladies was very friendly and helpful in showing us where everything is at the resort but once we explained that this is our 8th different resort and we like to try new places she accepted our polite “no thank you” and told us if we change our mind she would be happy to help. Zero pressure. Restaurants: In our opinion this is the resort’s weakness. Overall the food is just ok. If they could improve food quality at the a la carte restaurants this place would be near perfect. Reservations for Sutra and She are taken at Sutra at 3pm for that night. People are standing in line before 3 because space is so limited. Sutra(regular table)- Sushi was mediocre, bao bun was ok, shrimp fried rice and shrimp pad Thai were good. She- An interesting experience but not sure we would repeat. The food was tasty. Tiny portions left us hungry and a fully clothed exotic dancer feels a bit hollow after spending all day at the sexy pool. Sea Flirt- Coconut Shrimp was Delicious. My wife who doesn’t care for seafood had the ribeye and it was pretty bad cut. Lots of fat and gristle. Romanza- Italian is our favorite cuisine so spaghetti and shrimp Alfredo hit the spot, but I would rate them as average. Buffet- A bit smaller than we are used to, but we also usually visit larger resorts. It was sufficient for breakfast and lunch. Pool side lunches- Burgers available everyday with a rotating Mexican food selection. This was our lunch all but 1 day and it was great to not get dressed and leave the action at the pool Room service- Probably the best food we had. Wings are fantastic. Caffeine- We loved this coffee shop in the lobby. Caramel lattes every morning even though we are usually regular coffee people (mainly because the coffee in the breakfast buffet was lackluster- we like STRONG coffee). Sexy Pool: The heart of this resort. -People do play the towel game with most pool front loungers reserved by 7:30am. It doesn’t help that half the pool front real estate is blocked by the rentable clam shells and Bali beds. Anyway, the music is loud and the entertainment is fun. Topless participation was around 50-60% by 1pm each day with all different shapes and sizes of boobs and bodies. If you’re a self conscious lady (or gentleman), take heart as you will fit in no matter what you look like. Wear that daring bathing suit or go topless! Beach- Spent very little time here but it’s really nice. The sand is very soft, the water was calm, and staff worked hard to keep the little bit of sargassum cleaned up. No reef or anything to snorkel around so you’ll need to go elsewhere if you want that. Entertainment Staff- 5 stars! These beautiful, energetic, and friendly people work their asses off to make sure you aren’t bored. Games were fun to watch but don’t participate if you don’t have a sense of humor. Wait staff/bartenders- Eager to please and quick with service. We waited a minute or 2 at most when a bar was slammed. Big shout out to Luis the pool waiter. He had our drink choices down by day 2 and made small talk, joked with us. Bash-Another unique selling point of the resort are the theme nights and we enjoyed dressing up. Participation was around 60-70% with some really racy outfits so again, feel free to pack that skimpy costume. Thrive event- Only adding this as I’m sure it affects some parts of this review; This was our first stay and happened while the Thrive takeover occurred. We bought tickets as our dates were not flexible and we didn’t want to feel left out. I can’t fairly review the event. We ended up spending very little time with the event group because we had made friends with several “non-Thrive” couples at the sexy pool. But I can tell you their core attendees looked to be 25-40 and absolute stunning. Men that looked ready for bodybuilding competitions and women that looked ready for a porno shoot. This possibly raised the topless and evening costume participation during our stay (compared to normal). I would also guess the amount of single males down was a little lower than typical (the event was couples or single females only). In summary- mediocre food, great service, awesome sexy party atmosphere. We will return whenever we want to party as it is something we have never experienced elsewhere.
